🔥 More Than a Meal 🔥

📖 “Let us not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up.” — Galatians 6:9

This weekend I had the privilege of cooking alongside some amazing members of the BBQ community at the Volvo/Mack Family Day event. Moments like these remind me that barbecue is about so much more than food.

One of the ministries that embodies that truth is , founded by Jordan and Kati Davis. Their mission is to provide high-quality, fully cooked protein to food pantries and outreach organizations, bringing dignity, nourishment, and hope to families in need.

It’s a powerful reminder that God can use our passions for something much bigger than ourselves.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for people like Jordan and Kati who have chosen to use their gifts to serve others. Help me see opportunities to love my neighbors through action, not just words. Show me how You can use my passions and abilities to bring hope, encouragement, and Your love to those who need it most. Amen.

Holy Smokes Reminder:
A smoker can feed more than a crowd.

What an incredible day at the Volvo/Mack Family Day!

One of my favorite things about BBQ is that it brings people together, and this event was a perfect example of that. We had pitmasters, volunteers, friends, and family from all over the country standing shoulder to shoulder around the smokers, united by a love for great food and an even greater community.

From early morning fire management to serving families throughout the day, it was amazing to work alongside such a talented group of people. Different backgrounds, different styles, different stories—but all with the same goal: creating an unforgettable experience for the Volvo/Mack family.

The BBQ community truly is one big family. The friendships built around smoke, fire, and service are something special, and I’m grateful to have shared this cook with every person in this photo.

Days like this remind me that BBQ is about so much more than meat. It’s about fellowship, teamwork, serving others, and making memories that last long after the smoke clears.

Thank you to everyone who traveled, cooked, volunteered, and made this event such a success. I’d fire up the pits with this crew again anytime.

Ribeye steak kebabs over live fire just hit different 🔥🥩

Loaded up the kettle with steak, peppers, onions, and all the good stuff seasoned heavy with that killer beef rub from and W Sauce. Roasted corn got dusted down with Seasoning Outlaw Butter Dust while Fire Starters got me lit and lump and White Oak kept rolling clean and hot all cook long.

And you already know prep went down on the legendary .trueboard 🪵🔥

Simple food. Real fire. Big flavor. That’s what it’s all about.
