We are hiring a Prep Chef!

Reports To: The Prep Chef position will report to the Sous Chef and Chef Owner.

Job Overview: Prep chefs responsible to assist with food preparation for booked events. Prep chef should always look ahead at upcoming workload and plan accordingly. Collaborate with Sous Chef and Chef Owner on production levels. Receive food on delivery trucks, check for freshness, label/date/ consolidate, and store food using the sanitary standards of nationally recognized ServSafe. Prepare food item throughout the week and go on-site for necessary events. Execute daily/ weekly tasks to be communicated by Sous Chef.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Utilize national ServSafe standards while cleaning and sanitizing and ensure those employees around you are doing the same.
- Communicate and collaborate with Sous Chef about prep levels/ needs and assist where necessary.
- Report any ordering needs to the Chefs.
- Look ahead at upcoming event menus to gain inside on work responsibilities.
- Arrive on-site to execute events responsibilities.
- Ensure proper storage of all food items in all areas. Including time temperature standards.

Qualifications:

- Experience. - Minimal 3 years professional culinary experience necessary. 1 year catering experience preferred.
- Specific skills. – Knowledge of culinary arts and bulk food preparation.
- Personal characteristics. – Easy to work with. Great communication skills. The ability to delegate. Can look ahead at future events or special menu items.
- Certifications. – Servesafe Certification preferred.
- Physical abilities. – Must be able to do general commercial kitchen work like lift over 40 pounds, stand for long periods of time, etc.
