Sarah and Logan were lucky enough to have met RIGHT before the world shut down in 2020. And if you can stay together over a global pandemic, you can get through anything! They love to travel, so it's no surprise that they got engaged while on a family vacation to Rome, or that when thy got a dog, they named him Copenhagen. As proud dog parents, most of their activities now involve Copenhagen - the three of them like to go to dog parks or dog bars and all enjoy time together. Copenhagen almost stole the show at the wedding as their ring bearer. Best wishes!

One of the things that Preston and Julia share is a deep faith. They met five years ago, and actually spent most of the time since as friends. But somewhere along the more recent way, they realized the friendship had deepened into love. They got engaged outside an adoration chapel they went to in Fort Worth, where Preston first realized he wanted more than just friendship with Julia. As Julia says, "our faithfulness is our foundation, and it's a big part of what drew us to each other, so it was a full circle moment when Preston chose to propose there. It was common ground for us that saw us through our years of friendship and dating." It was important to them to recreate a few treasured family photographs their parents and grandparents had from their weddings, and we also had a lot of fun with other pictures including the DIP, which they just nailed! When you're so in sync and trust each other enough, pictures like that are flawless. Congratulations, Julia and Preston! It was an honor to witness and record your wedding celebration!

Karisma and Shane met 6 years ago, and got engaged in Cancun, Mexico in 2022. When I asked them about shared hobbies and photos they are most looking forward to on their wedding day, Karisma had one of the best answers I've heard in awhile. She said that both of them have jobs that really take a lot out of them - but when they are off work it's the presence of the other person that really helps them recharge. They don't even have to DO anything in particular - just lounging and relaxing together is one of their favorite activities. As for photos they really wanted, they were super excited to capture reactions when they saw each other, and it was so sweet. Both Shane and Karisma are super expressive and fun - they aren't afraid to show emotion and you can't help but smile when you are around them. They are also the type of people who just take everything in stride - rainy weather on wedding day, no worries, just grab some umbrellas and let's embrace it. Cake fight - yeah, they were down for that. It was really fun to watch them savor every second of their wedding day. Congratulations and best wishes!

When Emily and Padraich met 6 years ago, they started just as friends. Then about a year later, they had a first date and got engaged in 2023 on Belle Isle right off the coast of Detroit. They enjoy going for walks, playing golf, cooking and traveling together. And their one picture request was to make sure that we captured a lot of images of them enjoying the moment with friends and family. I think we got the memo - this was a super fun crowd, so there were plenty of fantastic candids and time to just capture the wedding as it unfolded. Katy and Ronnie met online eight years ago and got engaged on New Year's Day 2024! Ronnie proposed to Katy at midnight as the ball dropped by tying the ring to their dog (Stella's) collar. The fact that Stella was involved in the proposal was apropos, because both Katy and Ronnie are passionate about animals and animal rescue. Stella is their rescue dog (she's 11), and they also manage a hobby farm together with 5 hens, 4 rescue Indian Runner Ducks, and a rooster. When they were planning the wedding, they knew that family and location were both of prime importance. They chose to their home parish as the ceremony venue, and a reception at a well-known Inn in their hometown. Katy's grandfather walked her down the aisle, and they replicated many of their grandparents' and parents' wedding photographs, as a wonderful tribute to family and tradition. They say dogs are man's best friend - for Pierce, that may be true. After all, if his dog, Ella, hadn't peed on Karine's leg, then they might never have gotten together. And what's a best friend if they can't also be your wingman (ehm... wing dog...). Fortunately, Ella is really cute and was quickly forgiven. And just a few short years later, they were engaged and planning a wedding!

These days, you can find Karine and Pierce trying out new restaurants, playing card games, camping or generally being out in nature together.

One of the sweetest parts of the wedding was how Karine's grandmother was her Matron of Honor. I love seeing how families come together at a wedding, and who better to stand beside you than someone who has always been there for you! Karine and Pierce, I wish you all the best! Congratulations!

Katelynn and Ryan LOVE celebrations (and competition!). And who can blame them - when you share the same birthday, any celebration is double the fun! They met at Union College through mutual friends and immediately struck up a conversation once they realized what they had in common.

When it came time to propose, Ryan cooked up a great plan. Originally, they were going to vacation in the UK in 2020, but after the pandemic threw a wrench in the works, they decided to to replan the trip and make it bigger and better. And after a memorable day golfing in Scotland, fish n chips and pints, Ryan took Katelynn on a walk to St. Andrew's castle and while she was busy taking pictures of the scenery, he got down on one knee.

These days, their friendly competition comes in the form of pickleball, corn hole, board games and video games. They also love to rollerblade together, travel to new places and try new foods.

I think we broke a record at their wedding for the quickest photo session at the Lighthouse yet. When we set out for wedding party pictures there, I thought we'd get a break in the weather, but Mother Nature had other plans for us. But Katelynn and Ryan didn't care about a little rain or wind - we got the pictures and then hopped right back on their party bus! Ryan and Katelynn - I hope you always keep the party going - best wishes and congratulations!

Faith and Pat had the most elegant wedding this past spring at Barker House. Since neither one of them love being the center of attention, the event was more about an authentic celebration of family and lifetime commitments, than an event with lots of traditional wedding moments. They opted for a first look so they could spend cocktail hour mingling with their guests, skipped the first dance and big, grand entrance and just got right into the dinner and dancing! I really enjoyed meeting their closest family and friends. Everyone was so welcoming and excited for Faith and Pat. Best wishes for a long and happy life together!
