Monday, June 1st, is the deadline to register market lambs and goats into the Junior Market Livestock program at the Houghton County Fair. Youth aged 7 to 19 from Houghton or Keweenaw County are eligible. Materials to register can be found on the website, Houghtoncountyfair.com. Office hours are Monday from 12 to 3, or email to [email protected].

CREATE A POSTER CONTEST!
Youth from Houghton or Keweenaw County (age 7 to 19) have an opportunity to create a poster advertising the 2026 Houghton County Fair on August 27th to 30th. The poster should be a vertical style and can be drawn, painted, photos, sketches, etc. and will be blown up to an 11"x17" size. These are due on July 1st in the fair office (1500 Birch Street, Hancock, MI). Office hours are Monday and Wednesday from 12 to 3 or call 906-482-6200 to arrange a different time. The winner will receive 2 complimentary 4 day passes to the 2026 Houghton County Fair. The winning poster will become the property of the Houghton County Fair to use for publicity purposes.
Please include your age and contact information on the back of the poster. This year's fair theme celebrates the 75th Year of the Houghton County Fair, and 250th year of our country, which may be used in the poster. Email [email protected] if you have questions!

The deadline to register market swine for the Houghton County Fair is Friday, May 15, 2026. To find all forms that you need, go to https://houghtoncountyfair.com/?page_id=1235! Hogs have to be tagged, with a photo of the tag in the hogs ear, and submitted with the registration form. Houghton/Keweenaw youth aged 7 to 19 on December 31 of this year are eligible to show and sell in the Junior Market Livestock Program. Fair dates are August 27 to 30, 2026. Email registrations to [email protected], or drop them off at the fair office. Email the fair office for more information.
