At Canoe Place Inn & Cottages, sustainability isn’t just a value, it’s a practice embedded into every part of the guest experience. We’re proud to partner with Hotels for Trees, a global initiative that turns hotel stays into reforestation efforts. For every guest who forgoes housekeeping for a night, a tree is planted on their behalf, contributing directly to global reforestation projects, making each stay even more meaningful.
This aligns with our broader environmental commitments, including partnerships with Surfrider Eastern Long Island and Kiss the Ground to support beach cleanups and environmental education.
On property, we’ve eliminated single-use plastics, introduced bamboo room keys, and implemented refillable amenities. Our new branded apparel is locally sourced from Relic Sustainability, and we’ve adopted energy-efficient systems, EV charging, food waste reduction, and water conservation practices. At Good Ground Tavern, our chef’s garden and local sourcing bring sustainability to the table.
From planting trees to enjoying a garden-grown meal, every detail reflects our belief that true hospitality nurtures both people and planet.
