Some weddings are memorable… and then there are weekends that turn into family celebrations you’ll never forget!

Back in 2017, we had the honor of celebrating not one, but two amazing weddings for the same family.

💍 October 13, 2017 – Congratulations to Emma Graves Majure & Daniel Majure, who said “I do” in beautiful Lafayette.

💍 Then, just one month later on November 12, 2017, we were back celebrating Chelsea & West at the amazing Berry Barn!

The best part? Emma and Meagan are sisters! ❤️ It was such a privilege to be part of two incredible love stories for one amazing family in such a short time.

Thank you for trusting DJ Shaggy Entertainment to help create unforgettable memories on two of life’s biggest days. We hope your families have been blessed with many years of love, laughter, and happiness!

💜 Today’s Topic: Pros & Cons of a Money Dance

The money dance is one of those wedding traditions that people either absolutely love or choose to skip. There isn’t a right or wrong answer—it all depends on what fits your celebration!

👍 Pros:
💵 Gives guests a chance to personally congratulate the newlyweds.
💜 Can be a fun, interactive tradition that gets everyone involved.
🎉 Helps create memorable moments and great photos.
💍 In some cultures, it’s a meaningful tradition that symbolizes support for the couple’s new life together.

👎 Cons:
⏰ Can interrupt the flow of the reception and dance floor.
💸 Some guests may feel uncomfortable if they don’t have cash or feel expected to participate.
🎶 Depending on the size of the guest list, it can take a while to get through everyone.
🤔 It’s not a tradition every couple or family enjoys.

As a wedding DJ, I’ve seen incredible money dances that brought everyone together, and I’ve also seen amazing receptions that skipped it completely. The most important thing is choosing what fits your vision for your big day.
