Small, intimate parties call for extra personalized touches! For these custom dinner menus, I worked with Paige By Design to print a photo of the couple on the front and the 5-course menu descriptions on the reverse! It pairs so well with the custom diamond place cards that were tied around each napkin with a pretty stem of spray roses to finish off the setting.

✨I created The Refined Host with the intention of planning and designing thoughtful and memorable parties as well as weddings. Happy Monday! I am so excited to start off this week by sharing with all of you that I have a ✨BRAND NEW WEBSITE!✨ It has been on my to-do list for quite some time, but 2020 has truly proven to be a busy year in ways I never expected, so it is finally complete!

Let's talk about the First Look! Over the past few years, this has become increasingly popular among couples in lieu of waiting until the ceremony to see each other. The biggest advantage of breaking tradition is that it allows you to share an especially private moment between you and your *almost* spouse, without hundreds of guests gawking at you.
Another bonus? Being able to take all of your bridal party and family photos before the ceremony, so you can actually enjoy a cocktail and mingle at your cocktail hour!

If you are known to get emotional, extending the hours for your makeup artist to touch-up your look after the ceremony will be super beneficial. Also, weather is incredibly unpredictable and if you plan on taking photos outdoors, wind and other elements could affect your hairstyle. Having your hair stylist on-site to make sure you look perfect before and after walking down the aisle will be a decision you won’t regret.

Some of our client’s favorite photos after the wedding are the fun shots with their bridal party! ✨PRO TIP: make sure to build in enough timing into your wedding day timeline to account for plenty of photos with your VIPs. Someone will be blinking while another person is looking in the wrong direction, so the photographer needs ample time here in order to get “the shot.”
