Here’s some fun facts for today.
Did you know that McDonalds is the largest buyer of cow eyes in the USA. According to the USDA, FDA, cow eyes are acceptable as they have come from beef cattle.
Now, here’s the thing. McDonalds do not to my knowledge anything on their menu telling you the consumer that in your nice juicy protein patty contains cow eyes.
The rules are that they do not have to tell you. It came from a beef cow, so it is Beef.
To go back to yesterday’s post, around $19.00 for a burger meal containing eyeballs… Yum!
All the fast-food joints make their money by deceiving the consumer.
I used to like Chic Fil a
This was until I found out that the quality of their chicken was not top notch.
Chicken is graded by the producer. Not the FDA, not the USDA.
Guess what grade Chic fil a use?
Yup, grade C.

The Three Grades
• Grade A: The highest quality; features plump, meaty bodies, clean skin, and a good layer of fat; free of bruises, broken bones, tears, and feathers. This is what you see fresh in grocery stores.
• Grade B: Lower quality with minor deformities or moderate skin tears/defects; rarely sold whole at retail.
• Grade C: The lowest quality with more severe deformities or blemishes; used to make processed, cut-up, or ground chicken products
You see folks, you really do not know what you are eating.
Here in the USA, most of the food you buy is GMO’s Irradiated, and chemically produced, and the customer is happy to accept this.
Because of the wholesalers, supermarkets think that you the customer want perfect looking produce, the farmers have up to 40% waste before the product leaves the farm.
The supermarket buyers think you want straight carrots, bell peppers, cucumbers and alike, the deformed veggies at sent to the trash bin.
A few years ago in the United Kingdom, the celebrity chef Jamie Oliver took on the Supermarket about this practice. A Nationwide supermarket “Asda” took on the challenge by relaxing their stance…
Guess what, people purchased them.
We could do what the UK did. If the farmer doesn’t need to throw perfectly good albeit ugly looking food and saves 40% then the supermarkets can do the same.
End result, cheaper food.
So, to finish, I really would love to hear people’s comments.
No I didn’t compare Kroger to Plumb Market
This is my way of trying to open people’s eyes
Why do we have this obesity problem, why are children suffering from rare illnesses, so many health problems are caused by what you feed yourselves and your children.
Why does store bought bread stay fresh for 6 months?
Homemade bread lasts a week if kept in a fridge, if you haven’t eaten it by then.

So here's the thing. we get many inquiries for weddings, dinner parties and other events.
Because we cover most of Michigan with many clients up north in Boyne City, Muskegon, on the west side near Indiana plus much closer to Brighton i sometimes wonder if some people are living in another era.
I just looked at Burger king's menu and a burger, fries, onion rigs and a drink costs $19.06 plus tax.

I get an inquiry for a wedding reception or a dinner party for say 10 people. They want high end, farm to table, cooked on site but only want to spend $15.00 per person.
You guys go shopping, you really do know what groceries cost.
We do not buy ready cooked convenience food i know a lot of caterers do. You may want to pay for reheated garbage, that has been reheated for you and then presented as home made.

We on the other hand buy Free range chicken, grass fed beef, only fresh premium fish that hasn't been frozen, and make every single thing in front of you and your guests, then yes, it will cost more.
Just the other day, we received an inquiry from a group of business women in Detroit for a hot lunch for 15 ladies. I kid you not, their budget was $6.00 per person.
I'm sorry, has the world gone mad?
i really would love to hear people's comments on this

An update from last week’s post.
We are working hard making a new website just for “Personal Chef Meal Prep service”.
We are entering everything from Homemade soups, entrees, sides, sauces, and baked goods.
Where possible, we have given options for Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Vegan and Vegetarian.
We can supply vacuum sealed items or in microwaveable containers.
We can make any item customized to your exact requirements where possible.
Each order will need a chef service charge. This includes cooking and packaging.
We give the number of dishes we can do in any one cooking period.
I am sure you all know someone who could benefit from this service. This includes aged parents, people who just do not like cooking, people who lead busy work schedules and many more.
This is a cost-effective way of getting restaurant quality food at everyday prices.

Hello.
We have updated our “Personal Chef” menus to include more delicious portion-controlled meals.
We also have many items which can be made gluten free, dairy free. We also have many vegetarian and vegan friendly options. We are well versed at working with allergies and dietary restrictions.
Our service is aimed at clients who have a busy life, and do not have time or desire to cook for themselves. We also aim our services to the elderly or infirm: are your elderly parents feeding themselves properly? Are they getting the best nutrition, or are they buying convenience food which contains preservatives, and chemicals?
We did an experiment on a sensitive “gluten free” customer.
We found a low gluten, never hybridized, non GMO natural wheat which we made into bread using fresh yeast, and organic ingredients.
We did inform the customer about the use of wheat. The results were remarkable!
There was no adverse reaction at all!
We are also trying it on another client. We will keep you posted

On a different subject:
We still have some dates free for Christmas parties, and smaller events.

Contact us for more information and to get started.
