Another one out today 😍🌸💗💜 🎀

Some may know this, but I always try to recycle glass & often use recycled glass food jars. It kind of goes along with the small scale farm/locally grown flower theme & I try to do my part to .However, I had to go buy vases today as I was running out of recycled jars. 🙌🏻🙏🏻😍 Seems like a good problem to have to me & a huge thank you to y’all!

Did you know, with the exception of our bulb/tuber/corm grown flowers(like the dahlia and tall gladiolus seen here), you can save & plant seeds from most of the flowers I grow? That’s right & it’s also a way that I keep overhead costs down each year in order to keep my prices low yet sustainable! Make sure to follow our page & I will post photo tutorials on doing so soon! ☺️

I’ve learned lately that I am a bit long winded, so heres another long winded post. 😬🤷🏼‍♀️🤣

Put these together last week. I will have a few more coming out each week, though I can’t promise they’ll be posted for sale as I have people private message me weekly to order. If you think you’d like one for someone or yourself soon, please message me..I will always post extras on the main page, but I do accommodate orders first.

Unfortunately, between the crazy weather, broken equipment & deer, the fields just aren’t ready enough for multiple people in them picking, therefor, I am not able to open you-pick just yet. 😭 I am hoping with my main helper/mechanic(husband) finally coming home this week, it will start to look better & we can take some measures to insure we are able to open you-pick soon! It’s been a crazy year y’all!

I rarely keep any larger/real arrangements for myself. I usually just grab the not so good blooms & throw them in a vase until they die, then they sit dead on the counter for weeks.I tell myself I let them dry so I can seed collect from them to make myself feel better about it.🥴🤣 However, after arranging 1 for a housewarming happy, I decided to keep one. 4 weeks ago, our beloved dog of 10 years went into the woods & never returned home. It’s been a HARD 4 weeks without her & these flowers were just the little pick me up I needed.

🌸You-pick update:🌸
The good: things are starting to bloom & get taller! 🙌🏻 The constant rain and cooler weather has not been kind to us in the flower field this year, but I’m expecting the field to have enough to have a soft opening of you-pick soon!!

The unfortunate: I have to get out there to clean the rows up as well as around the creek before we can open, however I cannot do that in its current wet/boggy state & with more rain coming over the next week, it may push me back another week.

However, if I can get out there sometime in the next week & things keep blooming as they are now, it is highly possible that I may be able to have a SOFT you-pick opening June 11/12/13. If you’re interested in this, make sure you are subscribed to notifications found on the main page to catch that status update this coming week with full details.

As of now, I am anticipating fully opening the fields up June 18! I will try to be as transparent as possible with you all on the state of the fields in the coming week and the next & post photos. Our sunflowers may not be ready for a while, however there should be plenty of zinnias, bachelor buttons & marigolds for you-pick with a few gladiolus, liatris & dahlias as an add on option to the you-pick cup.

For those who do not want to do you-pick, I will have a few arrangements & wrapped bouquets coming out this week, if you’ve been waiting on one of those, message me! These will be first come first serve as I have them ready. ☺️

Thank y’all for being so patient, I however have not been as patient and have had daily talks with the flowers & Mother Nature lately. 🤣

Did you know, Prunella vulgaris “Common Selfheal” commonly thought of as a w**d, is not only loved by pollinators, but is edible to humans?

I’ve personally never tried it & have always left it to grow for the bees, however I am curious. 🤔🤣💜 Have you ever eaten “common selfheal” for its holistic healing properties?

I never got a chance to post extras, bc after private messages (flower orders are usually confidential until delivered) there were not any extras! 😱😍 I am BLOWN AWAY by everyone’s support of my little dream & cannot thank each of you enough!

As of right now, I am SOLD OUT! 😱🙌🏻😍 To be able to say that, is such an accomplishment to me! With the weather this year, it’s hard to tell what will bloom, when it will bloom or how many will bloom. I am watching things closely & will update if I have anything come available!

Did someone say fresh flowers?!! 😍 I will have a few vases trickling out over the next few weeks as I anxiously await the fields to be in bloom.

Sweet William will last weeks in a vase! WHAT?? It’s true, add in the fact that they’re fresh/locally grown & you’ll have pretty pink hues sitting on your table for weeks!

While Queen Anne’s Lace is a little more delicate, the history is absolutely intriguing! Queen Anne’s lace is said to have been named after Queen Anne of England, who was an expert lace maker. Legend has it that when pricked with a needle, a single drop of blood fell from her finger onto the lace, leaving the dark purple floret found in the flower’s center. 💜

ALSO, Queen Anne’s Lace is known as “wild carrot”. Through years of selective breeding, it was transformed into the larger, sweeter, and more crisp version of carrots that we’re all familiar with today! 😱🥕

Just did a walk around the fields. We have seedlings coming up & the gladiolus are doing fantastic! 😍🙌🏻

Left are bachelor buttons, top right are marigolds & bottom right are gladiolus with some day lilies mixed in around the border.

Zinnias should be popping up soon & we still have a few more variety in smaller quantities to plant.

Since I passed my Louisiana Retail Florist License exam today, I figured it was time to create our page! We’ve begun planting & have added more variety to our patches this year!

Along with premade arrangements, this year we will be hosting you-pick weekends for everyone to come out, take a stroll through the patch & pick their own flowers to take home! This has been a dream of mine for years & I cannot wait to share my love of growing flowers with everyone!

Our tentative opening date is May 31st, although it could be sooner, Mother Nature will decide that for us! Like our page to stay up to date on what’s happening around here & for the official opening announcement in a few months!!
