Auri's Open Mic Every Thursday Night from 6 to 9 PM at Cameron's Restaurant & Inn in Half Moon Bay, CA. Read Our Story for signups. Spots 6-10 are for call-ins.

Auri's Open Mic was started years ago by the great Auri Naggar at Cameron's Restaurant & Inn in Half Moon Bay, CA. It is a place for singers, songwriters, musicians, poets, comedians, and performers from all walks of life to come and show off their talents in an environment that is supportive and friendly. Many performers who started on Auri's Stage have gone on to careers as professional performe

rs. In-person signups for the first five time slots begins at 5:30 PM but you can call (650) 576-4754 AFTER noon on Thursday to reserve a number from 6-10. You get 3 songs, or 15 minutes, whichever comes first unless there are 15 or more signups, in which case you get 2 songs/10 minutes. Your time includes set-up so please be as prepared as possible when it is your turn. If you arrive early and sign up, please do not leave and come back. Finally, we want this to be a welcoming experience for everyone. Please be respectful of your fellow performers by not talking/tuning up loudly while they are playing. We may post your picture at facebook.com/aurisopenmic. If you prefer that we do not, let your host know. Feel free to “like” us and tag yourself! Sadly, Auri Naggar passed away on January 20th, 2011 but his tradition of bringing performers together and building a supportive community lives on. The Open Mic is now hosted by Auri's friend, Ken Voorheis.

What a FANTASTIC group of performers we had at AURI'S OPEN MIC last night! CAMERON's ENGLISH PUB & INN, Half Moon Bay, CA, was the scene of nonstop action from a full signup list of musicians with some performers coming from as far away as Houston and Colorado! This wonderful Open Mic is ON THE LIST WORLDWIDE folks, so don't miss it if you're planning on being in the San Francisco Bay Area on Thursday evenings! A HUGE THANKS to Cameron Palmer for allowing us to use his fantastic Pub & Inn for what is now the 31st year of Open Mic! BTW, I've been asked about the camera I use to take these pics. Well, things have changed yet again. The private party has been postponed to Dec.12, so we will start on time at 6:00 PM this Thursday, 12/5. Who knows what Santa will bring on December 12, but I'll keep you posted.

Things have changed slightly: there won't be any open mic on Thanksgiving, BUT WE WILL HAVE OPEN MIC ON THURSDAY, DECEMBER 5, although at a later starting time (6:40 or so) because of a private party. So, don't come early or come early and drink, it's your choice. Again, have a great Thanksgiving.

Our Story

Auri's Open Mic was started years ago by the great Auri Naggar at Cameron's Restaurant & Inn in Half Moon Bay, CA. It’s a place for singers, songwriters, musicians, poets, comedians and performers from all walks of life to come and show off their talents in an environment that is supportive and friendly. Many performers who started on Auri's Stage have gone on to careers as professional performers. Signups usually begin at 6:00 PM and all slots are first come first serve. However, you can text or call (650) 804-5792 at noon or thereafter on Thursday to reserve a time slot number from 6-10 in case you can’t show up early. Walk-ins can sign up for 6-10, but call-ins have preference. You get 3 songs, or 15 minutes, whichever comes first (unless there are 15 or more signups, in which case you get 2 songs/10 minutes). Your time includes set-up so please be as prepared as possible when it’s your turn. If you arrive early and sign up, please help out the establishment by sticking around for drinks and/or dinner. Finally, we want this to be a welcoming experience for everyone. Please be respectful of your fellow performers by not talking/tuning up loudly while they are playing. Auri embodied the idea of gentle encouragement to all who performed. Kevy Nova carried that idea forward and did a fine job of hosting for several years. Our current host, Ken Voorheis, is working hard to carry that spirit forward as well.
