The Kolman Family Christmas Light Show will be at the Lake County Maker Faire showing off the technology that the light show uses as well as plenty of 3d printed goodies to purchase. The Maker Faire is is Saturday April 12th from 10 am to 2 pm.

Come on out and see us and a whole lot of other makers and what we have been making!

Well, all good things have to come to an end and the same is true for our light show. Judging by possible incoming weather and a number of other contributing factors, tomorrow, Tuesday December 31st will be the last day to catch this year's show.

We saw so many of you enjoying what we put together and we look forward to doing it again next year!

Hopefully, we have some nice weather and we can have one night where we have dubbed it "Encore" where We can play, for one time only, the songs that didn't make the cut this year. They might be songs of years past or something that was just a fun thing to do.

We are officially open and the season has started! We have brought back some old favorites and added a few new songs. The show still starts at the top of every hour beginning at 4 PM and the lights shut off at 10 PM Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday but stay on for another show on Friday, Saturday and Sunday ending at 11 PM.

As always, please be courteous to the other guests and our neighbors. Please turn off your headlights but feel free to leave your parking lights on for safety. Please do not block the street or any of the neighbors driveways and please do not use them to turn around. The neighborhood is a square and will bring you back to the house if you just go around the block.

As in years past, please remember to tune to 89.9 FM to enjoy the show from the warmth and comfort of your vehicle. Feel free to sing and dance along to our holiday favorites.

Have a fantastic holiday season and we look forward to seeing everyone enjoying the lights!

We will be participating in the CLC Maker Faire this Saturday April 13th 2024 from 10 am to 2 pm.

The Faire is at the CLC Grayslake Campus in building F. It is free to attend, it is requested that you pre-register to get all the information.

We will have a ton of "things" we have made from 3d printed items to carrying cases for various hobby related equipment. From laser cut signs to a taste of our Christmas Light Show, The Kolman Family Light Show.

Come out and join us and more of Lake County Makers to see what fun we can make!

While admission to the Maker Faire is FREE, registration will assist with planning. So…if you want to learn to 3D print, watch robots in action, laser something, write Arduino code, make creations with items around home, and have a really great time… pre-register.

As they say, all good things must come to an end! Tomorrow, January 1st, will be the last show of the season. As much as we hate to say goodbye, it's only "for now". We will be back next year with another exciting show for everyone to enjoy.

We will leave the food donation box out for a bit longer if anyone wants to drop some more food off for our areas food bank.

We hope you all have enjoyed what we put together this year. We most definitely had a great time seeing all the cars parked along the street and hearing you all singing along having a fun time. We also liked hearing a friendly toot of your horn or the friendly waves, it really makes it all worth it!

It is great seeing everyone enjoy our display this year. We have been seeing some exceptional weather this season and we see it continuing for the foreseeable future. We will watch the forecast closely and most likely continue to run through the new year.

Please remember to bring some non perishable food items and deposit them in the red tub right on the corner. This will be donated to the local food pantries at the end of the season to help those that need it.

We did a thing!

For the next few weeks, The Kolman Family Christmas Light Show will be The Kolman Family Halloween Light Show.

We have added a few singing friends and a few Halloween songs by Rob Zombie, Metallica, Alvin and The Chipmunks and more. We still have the lightning effects in between the songs as well.Remember to tune to 89.9 FM and get spooky with us!

We have made a decision that the last show will be tonight. This good weather we are having and the fact of our busy schedule in the coming weeks means we might not have the ability to start shutting things down for a couple weeks. Looking at how little snow we have had so far, we want to get some of the things out of the yard before they get buried and we don't see them until February.

Thank you all for coming out and enjoying what we had this year. The weather threatened, but the show pushed through. We collected a sizable amount of food to donate to our locals in need.

Thank you all once again. We hope you had a very Merry Christmas and wish you a Happy New Year!

We hope everyone is enjoying the show this year. We definitely had fun choosing the songs. Some fun parody songs and some old classics mixed in and our talking trees and their light bulb friends are back as well.

Don't forget, we have a collection box on the corner for non perishable food items and donations that will assist the local food bank. If you want, please drop off something to help those in need.
