Held on the first weekend following Memorial Day, the Western Maryland Blues Fest served up an annual community celebration centered around one of America's most enduring musical forms-the blues. Set amidst raw-boned guitar riffs and emotionally charged vocals, the Blues Fes

t represented a unique "home-grown" partnership between public and private concerns. Conceptually conceived in 1995, and annually hosted by the City of Hagerstown, the Western Maryland Blues Fest mushroomed into a critically acclaimed blues event in the mid-Atlantic region since its modest inception in 1996. This festival took place at three different venues - University Plaza (free); Central Lot (ticketed); and City Park (free).

Congratulations to Mr. Leon Seidman the highest bidder for the original framed 2018 Blues Fest Art, titled “Guitar Girl” by Susan Carney.

Other works by Susan Carney the 2018 Blues Fest Artist are on display and available for purchase through June 26, 2018 at the Washington County Arts Council located in the heart of the Hagerstown Arts & Entertainment District.
