We get lots of questions about our tower hunts, heres a quick rundown of what to expect! A European tower shoot is a type of pheasant hunt derived from traditional European pheasant drives. It is also known as a "Continental Tower Shoot".
Here's how it works: Shooters are positioned at designated stations, often behind hay bales or butts, arranged in a circular pattern around a central tower. Pheasants or other game birds like Chukars are released from the tower, providing a challenging overhead shot as they fly out and try to escape. Shooters typically rotate through different stations during the hunt, ensuring everyone gets a variety of shooting angles. Trained gundogs are used to retrieve downed birds.
Last but not least, the social aspect: After our European tower shoots we break bread and share in the experience where no one leaves without having had a full plate and a full glass!!!
*While we hold public events, we also cater to private groups, so if you put your golf clubs away, you’re looking to do something fun with the group in the winter and fall months, we would be happy to take care of you.
