Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there - specifically the two moms who make this all possible.
This barbecue thing comes with a lot of sacrifice and it’s not easy to find balance. Nate was about a week old when I started OK Charley’s. Our lives that weren’t even settled in yet would never be the same. I go from day job to barbecue with little time in between during the season. Hope has put up with this huge encroachment on the life she expected us to have, and has supported me through it all. Thanks to all her work, Nate is developing into a smart, healthy, good-natured kid. And it’s all about mommy, mommy, mommy. Rightfully so.
And my mom - she’s been grinding away at this thing with me since day one. Despite my efforts to scale back what we ask her to do, she’s still as big a part of what we do each week as ever. You don’t get to choose of course, and I’m so lucky I wound up with a truly selfless mom who is not just fully behind whatever I do, but alongside pushing. She also doubles as our childcare solution on the days Hope works. I’m not sure how she does it all.
We love you!
Thank you!
