DO WE HAVE TO HAVE A LEGAL WEDDING LICENSE TO GET MARRIED????? Couples keep asking me...can we have a real wedding without a marriage license???? OF COURSE!!! There are many reasons people want to do this, and I have completed hundreds of weddings and have not signed a license. Reasons are: Bride will lose her insurance or lose her children's insurance. Groom can't afford to put his new wife on his insurance because it will take a huge chunk out of his paycheck. OLDER COUPLES: it will disrupt their finances and cost them more to live and take away their livelihood if having to change their information, such as their last name. THIS is the TRAP the government has put us in, and will cause a lot of confusion with their family once they pass. OR...they do not want to change their last name, because it will cost them about $300.00 to change their name for a new driver's license, new social security card, name change at banks, Credit Cards, etc. So I am happy to marry them with a real ceremony without them losing benefits or money.
