UPDATE (2/28/26): My dad is now home, recovering and resting. Your prayers, messages, and kindness have meant so much to our family. We’re deeply grateful for you all. ❤️
……….……………………………………………………
First, Bruce, myself, and our entire Fins family want to thank you all for the overwhelming love you’ve shown us. We were honestly blown away by the positive feedback after such a difficult weekend.
The truth is, it’s been a challenging several weeks for our team, not because of our community, our guests, or software glitches, but because of personal hardships and losses behind the scenes.
We won’t share details out of respect, but a few of our team members lost a loved one this past week. Our hearts break for them, and now begins their long process of healing. Our team really is like family. I know every business says that, but we are a family‑rooted, family‑run place, and we truly treat every member like one of our own. Watching the team step up for each other, take on extra responsibilities, and protect the ones who are hurting has been incredible.
This post wasn’t meant to go on and on, we just feel deeply grateful. In a world that can feel unkind at times, this community has shown us just how much love still surrounds us.
Bruce and I also want to share something personal before any rumors start circulating. My father was admitted to the hospital this weekend due to health complications. He is stable, stubborn, and already talking about getting back to Fins, but he needs to rest. As of right now, he is still in the hospital while we wait for more answers. We are hopeful he’ll be home later this week.
We want to be transparent and make sure you hear the truth directly from us — not from someone who doesn’t know our family or the situation. Once he’s finally granted freedom from the hospital, if you see him at Fins bussing tables or running around, feel free to tell him he’s officially 86’d from manual labor. It’s time for him to rest and enjoy life. Doctor’s orders, family’s orders, and probably half the town’s orders too. 😅
Our team has stepped up in every way, and those closest to us have been incredibly supportive. We want to reassure the community that we aren’t going anywhere. I grew up in these businesses (Fin's Restaurant and Pismo Beach Golf Course), and I have stepped into management and ownership. My husband and I plan for our future children to grow up here just like I did. 🥰
Our management team remains strong — with Dannielle leading the front of the house, Fernando leading the back, Hal leading the golf course team, and Bruce and I overseeing the entire operation.
We love this community, we love our family business, and we are proud to serve those less fortunate through our partnership with the 5 Cities Homeless Coalition.
Thank you for the love, the support, and the kindness. You have no idea how much it means to me, my father, and our entire team. God bless. ❤️
