Today, the U.S. Air Force Reserve celebrates its 77th birthday! On April 14, 1948, the Army Air Corps Reserve transferred to the United States Air Force, officially becoming the Air Force Reserve.

National Former Prisoner of War Recognition Day honors the courageous men and women who have endured brutal treatment at the hands of their captors. As a result, they've also suffered separation from family and displayed incredible endurance and faith during their captivity.

Since the Revolutionary War, over half a million service members have been captured. This number does not reflect those lost or never recovered.

We were honored to welcome over 150 guests for our Welcome Home Luncheon held yesterday on Vietnam Veterans Day. The day included a meaningful Lapel Pinning Ceremony led by guest speaker Brian Love, Director of the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency, a veteran resource fair featuring amazing partner organizations, the opening of The Long Vietnam War exhibit in partnership with the Grosse Pointe Artists Association and a ceremonial Rifle Volley and the playing of Taps by VVA Chapter 154.
