As we prepare the upcoming issue of Batten Hudson Living, we are inviting the community to submit story ideas for editorial consideration.

Batten Hudson Living is a lifestyle magazine celebrating life in Washington County. The magazine highlights the people, places, landscapes, and experiences that make our region such a special place to live, work, and visit. From local farms and outdoor recreation to historic villages, small businesses, and community life, the magazine tells the story of Washington County through authentic, locally driven content.

We are especially interested in original story ideas that reflect the character of the region and offer readers insight, inspiration, or a deeper connection to the community.

What to Submit for Initial Review

To get started, please send a brief proposal that includes:

• A short outline or summary of the article idea
• The general focus and angle of the story
• Whether you plan to write the article yourself or are submitting the idea only
• Whether you have access to photography to support the story

This initial submission is simply to evaluate fit and timing. A full article is not required at this stage.

Important Notes

• Submission of an idea does not guarantee publication
• All content is subject to editorial review and approval
• Our lead editor may make edits for clarity, length, style, or accuracy
• We reserve the right to decline submissions that are not a fit for the magazine

If your idea is selected, we will follow up with next steps, timelines, and editorial guidelines.
