Artistic expression is at the core of the work my studio produces so working with our dear client, who is a fine artist was a joy. We drew inspiration and the color palette from her paintings and interpreted her work through our flowers for a color drenched weekend.

Last week I traveled to Northern California to meet with friends old and new in the beautiful Napa valley.
In Trusted Company is more than a conference, it was truly a week of building trust, empathy and connection with like minded peers in the Wild West that is the wedding industry. We shared challenges, wins and goals, we went deep into motivation, pitfalls and times that we have failed and learned from failure.
We also ate amazing food, experienced generous and kind hospitality, laughed our heads off and danced the night away.
I’m so grateful for the experience, the connections and joy and am excited to start the year off energized and excited.

Why are we sharing scenes from 2016? Who knows, but I do think it’s fun and valuable to look back a decade.
In 2016 I went on one of my first flower adventures to Oaxaca, Mexico. I was only a couple of years into owning my business and very much trying to figure out what I was trying to say as an artist and as a creative person.
The week spent surrounded by a wonderful group of women in an incredible location solidified some things for me in my mind.
That I was meant to have a creative life, that my path must be uniquely my own, not based on anyone else’s business plan, vision or definition of success, and that I should never stop looking and learning.
10 years later, and I still hold all these values deeply.
