The Yellow House

The Yellow House Welcome to our family’s fb page in tribute to the beauty of Moosehead Lake. The house was constructed by Willam MacFarland in the late 1800’s.

In appreciation for its importance to Greenville, we began a complete renovation in 2017.

The right time, the right place

My husband brought me to Moosehead Lake for the first time in August 1996 for our honeymoon. Since then it has been our favorite place on earth. Soon thereafter we bought a camp on the lake (@Northeast Carry) and visited as often as we could. For the past twenty years, on our way upta camp, with our 2 boys, we drove past the Yellow House (aka Sloper House). Each and every time we’d say out loud, “I love that house.”

In 2017 when my husband came home and said “it’s for sale,” I said “let’s go for a drive!” As it turns out we were fortunate enough to buy this home on December 21, 2017, on my parents 49th wedding anniversary. Ironically we have dreams of creating a wedding venue for so many others to use on their special day.

Currently we are undergoing major renovations, but the property will be ready to share soon. Please continue to follow us.
