What a great show week! On Friday night we did a live broadcast (streaming and in house) of the Wels National Showchoir Pops Concert and Sunday we did their Sacred concert. Between the two shows, well over 10,000 people watched the livestream and that number keeps going up! We were proud to partner with Welcome Place Productions to provide lights, sound, and video for this event. NOTE: We start the stream 30-60 minutes early, so you have to fast forward through that part. This is the combination of both Saturday and Sunday. It's pretty much everything except the evening musical performances.

It should be noted that the opening ceremony footage is hard to hear because there wasn't audio support in that area and our camera was set up in a way to get people walking through the canopy, but the opening remarks and ribbon cutting was on the opposite side, so this footage is not really that good....it was a logistical problem and something we hope to correct for next year.

Here's the team from this past weekend at Madison Hmong New Year. The best dressed man in the photo is Xushi Yaj who was the person responsible for our involvement and he did all of the graphics for the weekend. Ever wonder what behind the scenes looks like for a live mix from Champion Video.

This pic is from Madison Hmong New Year this past weekend at the Alliant Center in Madison, Wisconsin.

On the table on the left is a multi-track audio recorder allowing us to record up to 20 channels of audio independently (although for events like this we often are just getting a left and right house mix from the audio company). That audio is then routed into our video mixer.

Behind the audio board is a HD recorder/monitor that records the entire live mix to a pro-res codec.

Next to that is our LiveU encoder that allows us to take an ethernet feed from the facility and bond that with a couple of wireless networks to create a solid pipe for our livestream (also not pictured.

Moving to the right is another audio board, which is serving as master level and mute control of the audio that we SEND to the audio team to play out to the in room system.

Next is a bag of M&Ms...which can be vital to the mental well being of our director.

Behind the M&Ms in the rack cases is our ATEM 4 ME Constellation switcher along with a power conditioner, 6 video record decks, and a POE network switch (which feeds POE to our PTZ cameras). On top of this rack case is a MacBook pro monitoring our livestream in a similar way to how our viewers would see it.

Next as we move along the table (into the corner) is our monitor that shows us all of our video inputs as well as our preview and program views. For this event we had two manned cameras just behind where the judges sat, 1 PTZ camera on a truss tower next to those manned cameras, and another PTZ camera in both the left and right corner of the stage.)

In front of the monitor is an X-Keys key pad and a small elgato stream deck. Both of these units act as the control surface for our video mixer.

Continuing to move right, we have a small computer running the control software for our video mixer. In front of that is the PTZ controller that allows complete control over those cameras.

Lastly we have our graphics op position (as well as our graphics op model HT Lucas.

For graphics we run ProPresenter running via Thunderbolt out to a decklink duo giving us true key and fill as well as two additional views such as a confidence monitor and stage clock.

Behind the graphics monitor is another monitor for the PTZ cameras.

WHAT AN AMAZING WEEKEND!!!

This past weekend Champion Video provided Video Walls, live video, and live streaming of the 2025-2026 Hmong New Year in Madison, Wisconsin. We filmed competitions for singing and dance as well as Miss Grand Hmong. The sights and sounds were pretty awesome. I will be sharing more photos and info soon. But I wanted to thank the Madison Hmong New Year committee and also Xushi Yaj for coordinating all of the AV efforts to make this event as successful as it was!!!

Our hearts are full as we got to help the Hmong community in Madison celebrate their New Year!!!
