After seeing off into their first ever Championship appearance (again, I can never say enough how proud I am of you Pirates), I raced to Swansboro for Onslow PirateFest, performed our show with the ...and then it was a dash to Atlantic Beach to swim with the kids and families at Mile of Hope. I had to rep our Pirates with the Golden Hour tail and purple top.

In case you missed it, yes I am a professional mermaid too. "The Siren Sorsha". As I posted on that page...This pool at the Atlantis Lodge and this event was the site of my very first swimming gig as a professional mermaid in 2022, and this is quite honestly my favorite outing every year. It's an opportunity to create magic for some very wonderful children and adults, and a chance to help them forget their troubles for a little while.
Mile of Hope is a non profit organization that provides an all expenses paid beach weekend to pediatric cancer patients and their families. If memory serves, there are 22 families total from ECU Health, Duke and UNC Chapel Hill University hospitals this weekend, all taking a much deserved break to make memories and enjoy time with pirates and a phenomenal staff of volunteers.

It was a busy Saturday full of piracy and siren shenanigans, but I left a big part of my heart at the Max.

Yup, Savanna of found me at the Quarterfinal as I watched play their way to a phenomenal victory.

Pirate Nation--the athletes and members of supporting programs, coaching staff, patrons, everyone involved in game day--is one big family. You have to be there to understand what an experience it is at every event. The traditions like No Quarter and Purple Haze are ones that stay with you, and I'm happy to be able to add my own little touches to each sport. You truly get to be part of something bigger than yourself, and all of it serves to support and hype up these deserving teams. Seeing athletes and coaches from other sports sitting in the stands to cheer on their fellow pirates and celebrate their moments is so heartwarming, too. It's what family does.

These young women have such an impact on the community and people around them, my daughters and I included. I can never thank them enough for inspiring us, making us want to do and be more.
That's why I am and will forever be proud to represent the purple and gold, standing beside, behind, and amongst legendary Pirates.

Loved this commentary by during the Quarterfinal with the triumphant last night. I retrieved two foul balls hit near me during the top of the first, and apparently got caught on camera. 🥎

🧹🧹🧹 AND THAT'S HOW WE DO IT IN PIRATE NATION!!!!!!
swept the series, won on Senior day AND Coach hit 500 career wins. Started off the game with 2 home runs in the first 3 pitches too. This game was fantastic, the crowd incredible and electric. You just had to be here. I am so proud of this team, and honored to represent them.
