“But our venue comes with a day-of coordinator…”
This is one of the most common things I hear from couples — and honestly, I get why it’s confusing.
The phrase “day-of coordinator” makes it sound like someone will be there to step in on your wedding day and manage everything you’ve spent the last year planning.
But in most cases, a venue coordinator’s primary responsibility is the venue itself.
They’re there to make sure the venue is ready, their team knows the plan, venue policies are followed, and everything happening within the venue’s scope runs smoothly.
And that is incredibly valuable!
But your wedding is so much bigger than the venue.
Your wedding planner/coordinator is looking at the entire picture — your full vendor team, timeline, setup, transportation, family & bridal party logistics, personal details, guest experience, and all of the little things that make your wedding yours.
We’re also the ones who have spent months getting to know you, understanding your priorities, building your timeline, communicating with your vendors, and creating the foundation needed to actually step in and take the reins on wedding day.
Because the goal isn’t just to have someone there on the day of.
The goal is to have someone who already knows the day.
That’s also why I don’t offer a traditional “day-of” package at Royal Street Events Co. I’ve found that a true day-of service limits the scope of what I’m able to do for my couples — and I don’t want to simply show up a few hours before your ceremony and try to piece together a year’s worth of planning.
I want to be involved early enough to build a foundation, understand your vision, establish relationships with your vendors, and make sure you can hand me the reins when your wedding day arrives.
Different roles. Different scopes. Both valuable. Just not interchangeable. 🤍
If your venue offers a “day-of coordinator,” ask them exactly what that role includes — and then ask yourself:
“Who is coordinating everything that falls outside of the venue?”
