Last Friday we hosted our 2nd annual Rhythm & Blooms community event to benefit RayOfHopeWestmoreland and their amazing organization that supports our area. What started last year as an idea to fundraise ,quickly turned into an uplifting evening to remember, memorialize , gather, support and raise awareness surrounded by beautiful flowers donated by our local flower farmers and florists. The uplifting music of MSJR plays while gathering to share our great memories of those that should be here with us. We proudly raised $833 to donate to Ray of Hope. We're so thankful to Rusty Musket Distilling Co-Latrobe for once again providing us a venue to have our event , MSJR for playing your music and spreading your message at every show you play, and all of our flower friends that make this night possible with your beautiful blooms Beech Hills Blooms Rainy Day Floral Co. The Copper Petal K&K Bouquet Wildberry Gardens Palombo's Little Valley U•Pick Flower Farm Mollie Repko | Hidden JEM Farm-flowers. A huge special thanks to Blooming Row and Joani, my cousins who are right there with me organizing, making bouquets, setting up, tearing down and making the whole event possible.

Rhythms and Blooms is a community memorial - a place to remember , to share stories, and to connect with others who understand. Surrounded by flowers and music, we honor our loved ones while supporting hope and healing.

The event will feature a pay from the heart flower bar curated by Sugar Magnolia Blooms & Blooming Row, and live music by MSJR.

All proceeds generated by this event will be donated to Ray of Hope.

Come help us celebrate life and promote mental health awareness and su***de prevention.

🐛 🦋 Metamorphosis : Sour Ale brewed with butterfly pea flower and blackberries 🦋🐛

Our collaboration with Yellow Bridge Brewing has hatched from the cocoon and almost ready to fly! We're so excited to celebrate the release of our beer. This crisp sour ale with a beautiful purple hue will be available this Thursday while supplies last. It's the perfect garden sipper to round out the rest of the summer.

Come celebrate its release with us for our bouquet workshop or just stop in the taproom and enjoy a cold pour!

This whole process has been so much fun. Thanks Yellow Bridge Brewing for the opportunity and for always brewing the most delicious brews 💙

Metamorphosis : A Garden Party

Join us on Thursday August 20 from 6:00 PM-9:00 PM to celebrate Metamorphosis, our beer collaboration with with a guided bouquet workshop . This interactive experience will feature guided instruction on creating a large, lush, freshly garden harvested and hand tied bouquet wrapped in sustainable burlap. We will have a hypothetical walk through the garden, discussing growing techniques and habits of each of the flowers used. The garden itself is a metamorphosis from seed to harvest, just as the gardener from season to season.

The garden party will also feature a garnish bar for Metamorphosis, which is a butterfly pea flower and blackberry sour. We'll compliment it's beautiful purple hue and crisp tart flavor with freshly cut herbs, edible flowers and fruit.

Everyone is welcome to this event. Grab your friends, partner or just come solo! Your best garden party attire is encouraged, but not required. It's going to be a beautiful evening surrounded by flowers, great brews and even better conversation to celebrate summer.

All tickets include a guided workshop for 1 handtied bouquet and 1 drink of choice as well as the complimentary garnish bar. Pizza and additional drinks are available for purchase and highly encouraged as the pizza is DELICIOUS. 4 packs of Metamorphosis will be available for purchase as well, as this is the perfect garden sipper on a hot summer night.

Last week we laid our sweet boy Russell to rest. Our hearts are completely shattered, but we are so grateful for the 15 years of memories, immense joy and true unwavering companionship he brought to us. Russ loved being in the yard, any form of sourdough crust, French fries, ice cream, bok choy, pillows, blankets, hats and sweaters. You could often find him hanging out in front of his window and watching the chipmunks. He also was known to love a good reality TV show and was always content lounging on the couch on top of a pillow or under a blanket. We always joked that the squirrels thought he was one of them when he was out in the yard. He loved little walks around the yard, checking everything out, always stopping to sniff around and make sure everything was in order. In the last year, we had a garden walk routine, and I would let him sniff around while I weeded and harvested. He never strayed far. It's hard to fathom not having him around and to say that he was loved and will be deeply missed are both incredibly huge understatements. He taught us so many things and it feels like we have lived many lifetimes since he was brought home as a 3-pound pup. On nice summer nights, we could be found sitting on the porch on the back of the garage looking at the moon, and he was always down for a good shed hang. In honor of that, we decided to bury him at the foot of the porch and at the head of the garden under the dogwood tree to continue to watch over everything. We've planted some black elephant ear that sway with the breeze, and every time we walk past, we're reminded of him and his sweet spirit. We plan to continue to add black flowers and plants in his honor.
