Employee Spotlight: Patrick Pegg
Please help us welcome Patrick, Director of System Development to the team! We're so thankful for his skills, passion, and commitment to excellence. He is truly one of a kind. Here's a little Q and A with Patrick. Enjoy!
How long have you been with the company?
I’m in my 2nd year with Sightline.
What does a typical day look like for you?
My favorite aspect of this work is that no two days are the same. I’m currently on a 180 panel LED deployment. There are a lot of moving parts to this type of build, and I’ve been developing tools to streamline the overall process of our LED Department while providing quality checks along the way. The pixel dimensions of this particular wall are 3456px by 1920px. Next week, I’ll be feeding the intelligence gathered on this build back into our system to continue refining the process.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I think of roles and titles as part and parcel of the professional landscape. I’m always learning new things. Within our 5 Phase Production Framework, our entire team serves in different roles at different points in the life cycle of a production. Working in production is a continual refinement of previous skills through the development of established workflows. Once these workflows become solid, they can be adopted by early career technicians and adapted to emerging environments and new technology.
What’s one professional accomplishment you’re really proud of?
We did a show for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina back in August 2024 with over 300 LED cabinets arranged as a pseudo-skyline which utilized corner tiles that had a seamless wrap around 90 degree corners. The end result was unique and truly stunning
What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?
I won my 5th grade class presidency by one vote by casting an absentee ballot via phone while sick from home (this explains a lot).
What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
Relaxing in my backyard with my wife and son, watching him learn about the way nature communicates efficiency at scale.
Do you have any hobbies or passions outside of work?
I play some kind of musical instrument more days than I don't. I've been iterating on a custom instrument that is comprised of samplers, hardware synthesizers, drum machines, and loopers for over a decade... perhaps I'll bring it into HQ sometime.
What’s your go-to productivity trick?
Sunlight.
