I'm still giddy over such a cool experience at the Journey concert in my hometown Greensboro North Carolina.

As a kid, my favorite band was Journey. As an adult, their music is still just as prominent in my playlists.

They have played at the Greensboro Complex eight times since 1978 and I have seen them 5 or 6 of those times.

Toward the end of this most recent show, all of the sudden, now-Greensboro resident and already-legendary guitarist Eric Gales walked out on stage and crushes it with Neal Schon in a epic and unforgettable jam session. The band started the song before Neal was able to introduce him but it felt like all 11,000 Greensboro peeps knew they were watching one of their own.

I sure did. And I have met Eric Gales several times before the whole world knew him. He and his wife Ladonna are great people and I met them ten years ago this week ironically. We met in Dallas and realized we all lived in Greensboro so it was such a full circle moment to be a Greensboro native watching my all-time favorite band and see one of my Greensboro heroes walkout on stage.

I did not have my cameras with me so all I had was my phone but I wasn't worried about capturing it, I was only worried about memorializing it. One of the coolest memories ever.
