Saratoga Polo Association just received word from Veuve Clicquot with the following message about cancelling the online event planned for tomorrow, June 6:

"Out of respect for the movement, Veuve Clicquot will not be moving forward with this weekend’s tribute. Instead we will be working with groups who are committed to standing up against racial inequality.

We are donating to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund to aid in their quest for justice. We are also donating to Black Girl Ventures and The Loveland Foundation to support black women and communities of color. And will continue to support City Harvest and its mission to feed New Yorkers in need. You can learn more about these incredible organizations here: https://linktr.ee/veuveclicquotusa.

All of us at Saratoga Polo Association mourn the loss of our mentor, friend and former co-owner, Anthony J. DePaula. We are all very fortunate for the contributions he made our club, the sport of polo and to charities throughout the community. He will be sorely missed.

IN MEMORIAM
Anthony “Tony” DePaula, Jr.

We, at Equine Advocates are mourning the loss of Anthony “Tony” DePaula who passed away on October 16, 2019. He was a wonderful friend and supporter of our organization, as well as a philanthropist and supporter of many causes for which he would raise money through his famous “Drive for a Cause” campaigns in Saratoga every year.

Tony was a regular attendee at our Annual Awards Dinner & Charity Auction events in Saratoga Springs. He was feisty, gregarious and always seemed to enjoy himself whenever he was doing something for others.

Tony hailed from Schenectady and opened his first car dealership, DePaula Chevrolet, in Albany in 1980. Over the years, his business expanded to include multiple dealerships that all became part of the DePaula Family Auto Group.

Tony loved horses and was involved with them on many levels – in sport as well supporting non-profit organizations that protected them.

We feel extremely privileged and fortunate to have known Tony DePaula.

We wish to express our deepest condolences and sympathy to his family and friends. He will be sorely missed.
