Escapees 💕
I wish I had better news for you today.
7 years ago, Jared and I, the owners of The Encrypted Escape, decided to go on a crazy adventure with all of you.
We opened The Encrypted Escape when we were both in our twenties. We had 1 car, Jared was going to school full time earning 3 majors and a minor (from 2017 and 2020) and I was working full time with another company.
We built everything for The Encrypted Escape in-house, from rooms, to experiences, to puzzles, to sound tracks, and everything in-between. It all came from our passion for stories and time spent thinking, solving, (and blaming 😉) loved ones while locked in a room.
Then, a lot of things happened in 2020. Jared graduated summa cm laude and a global pandemic hit. We did our best to navigate those times and managed to keep our heads above water. Even though we were closed for 3 months, when we re-opened, we were so excited!
However, it was not in the cards for us to make it all the way through. Small businesses are the first ones affected by big changes to inflation and the market.
We know we were loved by our players- you showed us through every review, beautiful comment left on our bathroom walls, and special events you chose to spend with us. Those will be the memories we cherish forever.

Many people know that Jared and I have always called this place our baby. Please know how much we appreciate and love you all for being on this adventure with us.
