My husband and I have taken on the task of renovating and restoring his family's historic property located in Central Vermont. The farm is approximately 850 acres of beautiful mountains, clear brooks and grassy valleys. We have 5 houses and 4 barns all of which are in need of significant cleaning out and renovation. This is just the beginning but this winter we are in the process of installing map

le sap lines to about 180 acres of the property which will consist of about 3000-5000 taps. We have also decided to use our main barn for weddings, concerts and any type of event you can think of. Stay tuned for pictures and updates as we work on this exciting and rewarding project!

What a difference a few months can make. This beautiful barn is one of our storage barns and holds everything from tables and chairs to snow machines and four wheelers to wagons, wheelbarrows and other gardening supplies. Best to keep it all under cover before the snows come.

After the leaves have fallen and the light has changed. After the weddings are over and the leaf peepers have gone home, there is November. Sweet November. When we put the gardens to bed, stack the firewood, put away all the summer machines and pull out the winter ones. The landscape is barren but always breathtakingly beautiful. There is never a time that we forget how magical this farm is. There is never a time that we are not grateful to live here.(And yes, we get snow in November. The snow pic is from November 3, 2020!)

Imagine settling into a weekend celebration on a beautiful Vermont farm, surrounded by your family and all of your closest friends. Reciting your vows to each other under the trees. The soft sounds of a babbling brook in the background. The party kicks off under the barn and by the fire pit with cocktails, snacks and great music. As darkness falls, you enter the barn for a fabulous candlelight dinner and dancing. The fire pit roars all night long as conversations stretch into the night. The next morning, you take your time bidding adieu to your guests and wind down from an amazing event that you will remember for the rest of your life. Cleaning the Dancehall barn is definitely not the most glamorous of jobs. In fact, it’s right up there with cleaning the chicken coop! But, boy is it satisfying and man, does she clean up nice! 😊

Our Story

My husband and I have taken on the task of renovating and restoring his family’s 6th generation historic property located in Central Vermont. The farm is approximately 850 acres of beautiful mountains, clear brooks and grassy valleys. There are 5 houses and 3 barns all of which were in various states of disrepair when we arrived here in 2013. After several years of improvements, two of our houses are listed on Airbnb for short term and seasonal rentals, two are the homes of long term tenants and we live in one. At the heart of our farm is an old dancehall barn which is ideal for weddings and events. Our first wedding took place in 2017 and bookings are looking strong for 2019. We have the ability to house over 25 guests in our houses on wedding weekends and we allow camping on the property. We have hiking and biking trails, a gorgeous mountain brook for waterfall viewing, brook trout fishing and cooling off. Our fire pit is second to none for authentic, rustic Vermont feels and on a clear night the stargazing is unbeatable.

We have installed over 3000 maple sap taps and this year we are adding a new building which will hold a state of the art boiling system for maple syrup production.

The next project is the cleaning out and repairing the downstairs of the dancehall for an East Granville museum! It will be filled with the history of the dancehall, the train station, the saw mill and talc mine that used to here and pictures, relics and memorabilia of East Granville’s heyday.
