Every year, Aurinko Ballet’s The Nutcracker brings local talent to the spotlight at The Lerner Theatre.

These dancers come from right here in our community, and they’ve poured countless hours of passion and practice into this holiday tradition.

When the curtain rises, you’ll see what all that heart looks like:

❄️ Snowflakes swirling in perfect harmony
🍬 The Sugar Plum Fairy’s graceful twirls
🌍 Vibrant dances inspired by China, Spain, India, and more

It’s a celebration of artistry, culture, and the people who make Elkhart shine. It’s also a show the whole family can enjoy together, from first-timers to lifelong fans. 🎄

Behind every performance is a unique story…

🩰 Early mornings at the barre, repeating one step until it finally sticks

✨ Falls, corrections, and the quiet courage to get back up

🎭Years of discovering who you are, one rehearsal at a time

That’s what makes ballet so moving. It’s never just grace. It’s endurance, self-discovery, and expression, folded into something that looks effortless.

“A ballerina takes steps given to her and makes them her own.” — Maria Tallchief 🩰

Each dancer learns similar steps, positions, counts, and choreography. But no two performances are ever the same. What sets a dancer apart isn’t the steps themselves — it’s the spirit, intention, and heart they pour into each one. ✨

We can’t wait to see how our dancers make this year’s performance of The Nutcracker unique 💫🩰💫

Don’t miss our first performance on Saturday, November 28th at The Lerner Theatre at 3:00 pm. 🎫 thelerner.com/event/the-nutcracker-at-the-lerner-theatre-2026

Every dancer learns to trust the floor first. The truth is, mastery comes from having the courage to try again ✨💫✨

Grace doesn’t come from perfect days, but from every time you stand up after falling. 🩰

Behind every weightless leap is a thousand hours no one sees. Then the curtain rises—and it all disappears into something that looks like flying.

This is the start of the two forces that shape every dancer — the determination behind the scenes and the grace on stage. 🩰
