I get to perform a lot of cool, mostly older works. It's less common that I get to perform something from a living (American) composer, let alone have it be a world premiere masterworks piece.

April 2026 we premiered the masterwork "Benjamin Franklin" piece thanks to National Concerts, at Carnegie Hall, and then this weekend (October 2026) brought it home to GR for its first symphony performance.
The text below comes from the 5th movement of the work, but it's theme is throughout the piece.

It's thought provoking; seeing and hearing it stirs something within. For me, it's been an ear-worm (and a brain-worm), that I keep coming back to.

Soprano Soloist - Oct 2-3 (4th in Hastings) GR Symphony The Music of Star Trek [I'll be the soprano soloist in the Stark Trek Through the Years piece.]

GRS Chorus - Oct 9-10 America 250 [We world premiered this piece at Carnegie April 2026, and we have brought it home to the GR Symphony. The composer will be present, and is doing the pre-concert lectures for this one. The choral piece is "Ben Franklin", for my history-driven people.]

GRS Chorus - Nov 20-21 Messiah by Candlelight The Symphony Chorus will be performing the majority of Handle's Messiah.

GRS Chorus - Dec 4-6 Holiday Pops - A family friendly, Grand Rapids holiday staple!

GRS Chorus - May 7-8 Mahler's Resurrection The Symphony Chorus and a guest mezzo-soprano will perform Mahlers' 2nd Symphony

Guess who booked a solo vocalist gig with the GR Symphony for their "The Music of Star Trek" concert?! That's right!

For a short but sweet moment you'll hear me singing along with them during their 'Star Trek Through the Years' piece.

This weekend I had the privilege of joining Vox GR for this project!

Vox GR is excited to collabroate with the on Part 3 of their Equal Billing Project recording works by American composers William Dawson, Ulysses Kay, and Robert Russell Bennett.

The Jackson Symphony Orchestra’s “Equal Billing Project” aims to record and support the music of a deceased composer that wasn’t equally billed or recognized during their lifetime. The project supports costs associated with recording, research, music publication and travel.

Under the leadership of Matthew Aubin and joined by Vox GR Choral Ensemble, the project will highlight remarkable works that have been rarely performed and deserve greater recognition.
