what a weekend !! There were SO many things didn’t go right for me this weekend including forgetting inventory at home BOTH days and my roof blowing off my tent overnight on Thursday from the storm leaving my tables and displays soaking wet (no inventory was harmed, thank goodness!).
But so, so many things exceeded expectations. Kind neighbors and friends like Black And Tan: Vintage with a Twist and Magpie Mischief jumping inMagpie Mischieff my things and get my displays and lights back in place before the second wave of rain, and Chuffed Home for honest coChuffed Home 🫶🏽 Hugs from familiar faces and lots of exciting conversations with new ones. Amazing sales, some of my favorite work to date heading to new homes around the country (!!!) and customers that return to your booth a second time, even when the rain starts to pour.
Highlight of the weekend was absolutely sending my Blue Morpho off to its new home🦋💖 It’s the *one* piece I was determined to sell this weekend, and with the rain coming down, and the final hour left of the market I had accepted that it hadn’t found the perfect home yet, and that’s okay.
A friend of mine came to help me pack up, and she and I were chatting in inside my booth keeping dry from the rain. Two girls were eyeing the piece, and when we noticed one of them reach for it off the display we both gasped so loudly that we startled them 🤣😅
I explained how I was hoping it would go to a good home, and was thrilled to later hear that she was taking her to live in sunny California. A perfect, bright spot for such a vibrant piece!
I wrapped her up to survive the rain and the cross-country move, and tears welled up in my eyes after they left.
Art (and life?!) is about what you love, and I’m so grateful to spend my days sharing it with you. 💖🫶🏽🦋
