Thank you family and friends who donated to the Asheville fundraiser at the Polish Falcons.
Update on fundraising. Thank you all for making this a great event in support of BeLoved Asheville. Over $11,000 was raised!! Another example of just how great this community is.
We wish to thank all those who participated in the fundraiser for Asheville NC. We appreciate all those who contributed financially, donating raffle prizes, auction prizes and the lottery boards. We would also like to recognize our bartenders who donated their tips to the fundraiser. In addition we had several major donors who contributed to include Char Czarnecki, Bob Beekman, the Men’s Club and Three Men And A Grill (Lisa Feist & Rich Nawrocki). All donations were greatly appreciated and the fundraiser represented our club well.
On 11/18/2024 the club had raised and sent $11,130.00 to BeLoved Asheville. THANK YOU THANK YOU!!
The following is an excerpt of an e-mail received from the co-directors of BeLoved Asheville to a friend and local resident.
“We have been absolutely overwhelmed by all of the love from across the country. This includes your amazing Grand Rapid friends! Wow and just incredible that the Polish Falcons opened up their hall and that your friends worked so hard to make a difference.
So grateful that you shared with them about our local, boots on the ground efforts here in WNC. We are here for the community for the long haul and we know these funds will make a tremendous difference!
We continue to supply our community with basic survival necessities, temporary water infrastructure and filtration, temporary housing and shelter for winter, clean up support, and now working on long-term recovery including home repair and rehoming those who lost everything. These funds will go to support these efforts to lift our WNC neighbors who were most impacted by the storm.
Also, we have monthly sustainers that meet our very small overhead so 100 percent of funds being raised right now go to Helene Relief and Recovery”
One of our member’s received the following e-mail from a friend living in Asheville: “OMG, Dave, that is wonderful. And yes, we still need the help. Cindy and I are still showering and doing laundry in the parking lot at the mall. We go out once a week and fill up gallon jugs with potable water for drinking and doing dishes. Red Cross, World Central Kitchen and the National Guard are still here.
Beloved Asheville is a wonderful organization. Please thank your club members for us. And thank you!
It was so nice to hear from you!
