Cerbero Breathwork

If you are the kind of person who constantly is typing out something to send to someone or to post, only to delete and disregard, I have a special silent alliance with you.

This Cerbero project is my attempt to build and grow the idea of using the framework, or lens, of art to help understand ourselves and the human condition. We live in a capitalist society, art inevitably comes up against the interests of capital. I find myself caught up in that utilizing the names of artists for advertising my practices, which are essentially are brand names owned by corporations.

Even using that language, I'm not out here doing stuff to indoctrinate, or to make you feel like you are right and got it figured out because you agree with me on something. I want to press on the struggles that have always been here and will always be here no matter whom is the US president.

It's always an honor to have people join in my practices. And I will continue to keep trying to express what I need to without hitting backspace a thousand times.

Cerbero breathwork is designed to tap into your body to be able to better integrate, and discern with, the connections between the mind, body, and spirit.

This next circle for September is called "The 'S' word" and the theme very much taps into those connections.

If I'm over polite, I'll say the "s word" is "September". But it's really "s*x", and then following on from that "slut". Most of the music I've chosen for practice is in some spaces referred to as "slut pop". This is all in the spirit of fun. If this doesn't sound like fun to you, I will have a different theme next month.

I'm looking to put together an experience anyone could come in, check their inhibitions at door, and enjoy connecting with their body. There will be no shame, and words that have used to inspire shame will have no power.

Yes, we are doing breathwork labor day weekend.

On Saturday September 5th @ 10am, I will be opening our September breathwork circle. It is entitled "The 'S' Word". The doors are still standing on the choir room in Fountain Street Church, so having not blown them off, we'll have to come back and try again!

We had a great first circle, in a room with acoustics no less! It was really wonderful to share the experience with new faces in new spaces.

So far, nothing else on the schedule for August. But I'll be sure to tell you if that changes.

What is funky, and punky, and loud from start to finish?

Why, it couldn't be anything other than Grand Rapids' only breathwork practice represented by a 3 headed hell hound!
