CMU's music department will present a final concert for their annual Jazztopia workshop on Wednesday, June 10.

Jazztopia is a four-day summer camp for high school musicians to come to CMU and develop their jazz skills in a combo setting. Activities focus on improvisation, jazz history, instrument technique, and combo performance.

Jazztopia faculty will present a free concert on the Aspen Patio at the Hotel Maverick on Wednesday, June 10 from 6–7:30 pm. The concert features Jazztopia faculty Joe Anderies, saxophone; Sean Flanigan, trombone; Adrian Herrera, piano; Tim Emmons, bass; and Darin Kamstra, drums.

Donations are welcome and will benefit CMU music student scholarships. Patrons are encouraged to bring a chair for the patio or lawn.

What started out as a one-off party gig has turned into just over a decade-long run, totaling more than 1100 concerts across the US and abroad.
