As the major center for arts and culture between Denver and Salt Lake City, CMU Performing Arts in the Moss Performing Arts Center provides dance and theatre students with the tools they needed to let their creativity shine. Theatre and dance performances include:
The brand new Mesa Lab performances, dedicated to original work and CMU’s foray into the cutting edge of contemporary theatre making. CMU students work alongside guest artist directors, designers and playwrights to create work never seen before. Mesa Lab productions are for the adventurous-spirited seeking new insight into the human condition.
Main Season dance concerts, featuring internationally-renowned guest artist work, new faculty pieces and adjudicated choreography by selected students. Dance styles range from ballet and tap, to jazz and hip hop, and all styles of modern contemporary work.
Student-directed dance concerts and lab theatre, allowing students the freedom and the experience of producing all aspects of a theatre or dance production.
Main Season straight and musical theatre productions in a range of styles for student education and audience entertainment: from classic theatre favorites to blockbuster Broadway hits to award-winning contemporary works.
Outreach performances for Grand Valley area school children.
