✨ Behind the Scenes ✨

One thing people don’t always realize is that every single piece of our vintage dishware is washed by hand. That means no shortcuts, no dishwashers—just lots of suds, elbow grease, and care. 🧼💪

When you’ve got thousands of plates, cups, and glasses, it can feel like an endless sink of dishes (imagine doing the dinner dishes… times a hundred!). But here’s the thing—we love it. Because every careful wash is what keeps these treasures shining and strong, ready to celebrate with you for years to come.

So the next time you see a beautifully set table at one of our events, just know—it’s not just décor, it’s decades of history we’re preserving, one hand-washed dish at a time. 🍽️💛

This past weekend we had our very first visit to Vale Royal Barn and Inn and we loved every minute of it! 🌾✨

Valerie, the owner, is an absolute gem—so sweet, easy to work with, and clearly pouring her heart into this beautiful venue. We’re so proud of all the work she has put into the space and can’t wait for future collaborations.

We were joined by some of our favorite creative partners:
💐 Bentley Florist with the ever-talented Waneita, whose floral work always speaks for itself.
🌸 Roots on Reid, a beautiful wildflower farm that brings the most natural charm to every event.
🍦 Our new Grand Blanc neighbors Sweet Escape & Treats, serving up the most delicious ice cream.

Now for the wedding magic 💍—Kyra was such a joy to design with! After months of chatting, her vision came together beautifully: simple bud vases, rust orange details, elegant gold beaded chargers, crystal glassware, and all the cowboy charm you could dream of. 🤠 She even had a cowboy hat favor station by Howell Western Wear—how fun is that?
Oh, and did we mention there were HORSES?! 🐎 The sweetest surprise.

As a thoughtful touch, the bride gifted hats to some of her vendors. I passed mine on to one of our all-time favorite staff members, Marina—and she looked absolutely adorable! 🧡

What a wonderful day filled with love, creativity, and a little cowboy flair. We can’t wait to be back at Vale Royal Barn again soon!

We’ve been getting a lot of questions about what makes our company sustainable, so we thought we’d start showing you the little ways we put that into practice in the event and decorating world right here in Genesee County, Michigan. 🌱✨

Our main goal is to reduce as much of the carbon footprint as possible in local celebrations by rethinking how décor is sourced and cared for. Instead of single-use, disposable items, we invest in pieces that can be loved over and over again.

Today, we’re celebrating a fun milestone: these gorgeous rust-orange gauze napkins have officially made it through their sixth event with us! 🧡 When you take care of things, they can last for a very, very long time. We’re intentional and careful with our inventory so that every piece gets to tell its story many times over.

This is just one small example of how sustainability lives in the details of what we do.

We’re officially opening our books for next year!

With renovations at The Aitken Estate underway, we’re moving forward like every other year—ready to help couples pull off unforgettable, sustainable celebrations. 💍🌿

We’re also welcoming our sweet Lindsey to the team!

You’ll spot her out in the community sharing flyers + swag (she prefers to stay out of photos, but trust us—you’ll know her when you see her 💛). She’s got the purest heart of gold and we’re lucky to have her.

Let’s make next year one to remember. 🖤

Also, our florist Waneita, owner of Bentley Florist is someone we will we hold onto and cherish forever.

Don't wait until the very last minute to reach out to us! We like at least 6 months of planning so - - - TAG YOUR FRIENDS! We're ready to chat and play dress up on some tables.

I’m just so dang proud of our clients 🥹💚 Not only are they making sustainable choices by hiring our team, but they’re also beautifully open-minded when it comes to using natural, locally foraged (free-clipped!) greenery to bring their vision to life. It's a win for their event and a win for the planet 🌿✨

Starting to pull things to be cleaned for a sept. Wedding!
We’re wry excited as this wedding will be the first time our Moscow mule mugs and blue china is set on tables 🙌🏼

Again, all sourced second hand.

We haven’t taken on as many clients this season as usual—most of our focus has been on the rezoning and restoration of the historic house. But we do still have a few amazing brides this year (and next!), and we’re so grateful to be part of their special days. 💍

One of the things we absolutely love is when a bride comes to us with a specific vision or color palette, and we’re missing a few key pieces to bring it all together. That’s when the real fun begins—it’s like a treasure hunt! We get to go antique picking and sourcing unique vintage finds that elevate the entire design.

The bonus? Our inventory grows every time we do this—and each piece has its own story. 💫

Look at how pretty these are! 🥹

Feeling incredibly grateful today. 💛

I spent some time unboxing more beautiful donations — vintage china and other treasures that will soon be added to our ever-growing collection for wedding and event rentals. As I was unpacking, I looked up and caught sight of the school supplies we’ve been gathering for local foster and needy children. It was such a sweet reminder of how connected it all is.

Because of your generous donations, we’re able to keep growing — not just our collection, but our ability to give back.

Thank you for trusting us with your heirlooms and your kindness. We work hard to make sure it comes full circle, staying active in our community and giving where we can. We want to make you proud. 🫶

Busy Bees Over Here 🐝
We've been go-go-go lately, and today was no exception—we had an amazing meeting with one of our lovely brides! 💍 Between planning for the future of our historic house and tackling the never-ending task of organizing and cleaning our entire inventory (after moving it twice in the last year and a half 😅), it's been nonstop.

But we’re getting there! We’re almost done unboxing, categorizing, and deep-cleaning all our pieces. Depending on how our meeting with the lawyer goes tomorrow, and how long the township process takes, we might be opening our books for offsite weddings in 2026.

While our dream has been to focus 100% on The Aitken Estate, if the venue build takes longer than expected, we still need to keep moving forward—because let’s be real: this old house is a money pit until she’s finished and ready to share with all of you. 🏡💸

That said, we’re incredibly proud of how far we've come and everything we’ve accomplished—especially knowing that nearly all of our pieces are second-hand. We care deeply for what we have, and it shows: our inventory is beautiful, well-loved, and made to last. ♻️✨

Thanks for being here with us through all the chaos and magic.

P.s. my helper is super cute!

I’m over here getting all gushy-eyed reading through the incredible letters of support we’ve received for our Historic House/Greenhouse venue project. Truly — the outpouring has been overwhelming, and they just keep coming.

We have our first meeting with our lawyer tomorrow, and while this may turn out to be a long (and expensive) journey, it’s one we are 100% committed to seeing through.

If you haven’t had a chance to send in a letter yet, there’s still time — and every voice helps.

To those of you who have already written on our behalf: I’m seriously teary-eyed. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. Your support means everything.

We’re not giving up.

We understand that change can be unsettling, especially when it involves something unfamiliar. Yes, we’ve upset a few neighbors with our plans for The Aitken Estate—one of the oldest and most historic homes in Genesee County. Unfortunately, we’ve been met with some hostility, as though we’re trying to bring a mega-site or rowdy bar to the property. I can assure you that couldn’t be further from the truth. The Aitken Estate

Our family and our brand specialize in high-end decorating and event services, and our pricing reflects that. With a higher-end clientele comes more refined, respectful wedding and event guests.

We do hear the concerns being raised, and we’re not ignoring them—we’re simply pushing forward with our legal team to ensure our vision gets a fair chance. Between Dustin and myself, we bring many years of experience in both the entertainment and hospitality industries. We truly love what we do, especially when it involves giving back—whether it's through supporting nonprofits, creating beautiful community spaces, or ensuring our staff earns a livable wage.

We’re also conducting in-depth research on sound levels and decibel fall-off to provide clear, factual information that will hopefully put some minds at ease.

We’ve already received several incredible letters of support, and we’re so grateful to those of you who’ve taken the time to share your words with us. We are genuinely good people with good intentions. Our doors—and our books—are always open. If you have concerns, please come by and meet us. We’re confident you’ll find we’re approachable, passionate, and kind.

If you’re willing, please consider writing us a letter of good faith to add to the growing collection. It would mean the world to us as we continue to move forward with this dream.

Feel free to email or message letters =) [email protected]

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT: Special Land Use Permit Denied

Alright… As many of you already know, we were recently denied our special land use permit to build a greenhouse on the estate’s acreage. While this was a disappointing decision, we are absolutely planning to appeal and fight for the vision we’ve put so much heart and effort into.

Here’s the thing — we have 5 acres of land, located directly off Linden Rd, a busy, loud 5-lane road. We’re also surrounded by other residential properties, many of which have already been granted special land use approvals, including Carmen Ainsworth High School.

There is no reasonable justification for our request to be denied. Even more upsetting, I wasn’t given the opportunity to speak during the meeting and present our sound mitigation plan — which is already in motion.

We are now asking for YOUR HELP.

If you:

Know me or my family
Have ever worked with us
Have benefited from our services
Or simply support small, community-driven development...
Please consider writing us a letter of good faith to present to the township. Your letter should express support for our project and who we are — people who love and want to honor this historic piece of land, not exploit it.

This greenhouse isn’t about pure profit — it’s about creating a beautiful, intentional space for community, gatherings, education, and sustainable events on land we deeply respect.

📩 If you’re willing to write a letter, please be sure to include:

Your full name
Your address and phone number (the township may follow up)
A few sentences about your relationship to us or your support for this project
👉 We’re on a tight deadline to file our appeal, so we kindly ask that all letters be emailed or returned to us within the next week.

Your voice matters. One letter can make a difference — a hundred could change everything. Thank you for standing with us.
