I just got home and heard the news that Eric Bristow has passed. It is a very sad day in the world of darts. When I first started learning to play darts I had a video of his (VHS, it was a long time ago), on how to play darts. It was an instructional video but it also had some highlights of his matches. A couple that stood out were with Jocky Wilson. I would watch those over and over again. For those who never got to see him play, I did once in Vegas, he was something to watch. He will be missed.

LOD anyone? For those who don't have anything going, if we get enough folks up to Swartz Creek Golf Course, I will run an impromptu LOD after our FPL tourney. We start at 2pm so should be done by 5 or so. Just depends on how long the matches go. We will do our awards and then a LOD if there is nothing else going on in town. I didn't see anything posted for JJs or any place else, so I'm throwing this together. Let me know if there is something else going on.

Just a thought.

FPL Tournament Day. The tournament day is finally here. We will kick off at 2pm with the stream coming up around 1:30. The streamed match will see Butter vs Brad. The other streaming matches will be determined as we go along.

Reminder to the players, dress code and conduct is still on. The awards will be presented after the conclusion of the tournament. Players that are knocked out are encouraged to cheer on the other players, especially on the stream. Bring your signs if you have them. Good luck to all, shoot well and have some fun.

Flint Premiere League Tournament Info. OK, this was supposed to come out earlier this week, but life happens. So here it is. The FPL did gain an additional sponsor and is able to put some more money into the payout. We divided the money between the league stage and the tournament stage. The payout for the league will now be $150.00 for the winner (was 100), second place gets $100.00 (was 0), third and fourth will get $25.00 each. For the tournament all the places increase a little bit.
1st. 410.00
2nd 250.00
3/4 120.00/ea
5/8 60.00/ea
9/10 30/ea

I want to thank our sponsors, Tim Brooks who donated money and the plaque, Deno's Shot of the Day who gave us a place to play and added to the pot, and MiDarts who donated to the prize pool. I also want to thank all of the players for giving us a good league, great darts, and a lot of fun, and also for bearing with me and Butter while we worked through the first year. Thanks as well to Butter who had the idea and helped get the sponsors and the venue among a lot of other things. Looking forward to next year.

**FYI, all league fees and sponsor money went back to the players.**

Flint Premiere League Final Week Recap. After 9 weeks of play the league portion of the FPL is now in the books. The featured match was for top of the table and it didn't disappoint. Kory went up 4-2 before seeing Lee go on a run of 4 straight to take the lead. Kory fought back to take the next two to even the match. Lee however, would pull out a win to stay undefeated and win the League title. Both players had 9 counts while Kory fired in a 180. This gives Lee the #1 seed and Kory the #2 seed in next weeks tournament. Anthony threw 2 9 counts in his 13-0 white wash of Wedo. Butter continued in good form as he beat Don 11-2. Butter had a white horse and Don had a 9 count. Mike defeated Brad -8-5 firing in a 9 count along the way. Scott got off to a rough start but managed to find the range as he took out Carp 8-5.

Now for the fun part. The standings.
1st Lee 9-0
2nd Kory 7-2
3rd Don 5-4 (Head-to-head tie break over Anthony)
4th Anthony 5-4
5th Scott 4-5 (Head-to-head tie break over Carp)
6th Carp 4-5
7th Mike 4-5 (Head-to-head tie break over Butter)
8th Butter 4-5
9th Brad 2-7
10th Wedo 1-8

**Note Scott, Carp, Mike, and Butter all tied with win loss record. The legs came into effect with Scott and Carp tied at 61. The head-to-head record was then used to decide the places.

FPL Update from Week 8. Just realized I didn't recap week 8. The featured board saw Mike and Scott put on a show. Scott threw 2 9 counts and a white horse, but was no match for Mike's 3 white horses, a 180 and a 171. Mike took the match 9-4. In other matches Anthony landed the highest out so far with a 142 as he beat Brad 9-4. Anthony also had two 9 counts and a 180 while Brad landed 1 9 count. Lee threw 1 of each, 180, 9 count and white horse in is 12-1 win over Wedo. Don's lone 180 wasn't enough to take the victory as Kory won 7-6. Butter had a 120 out, white horse, and a 9 count in his 9-4 victory over Carp. Carp could only manage 1 9 count.

Interesting stat. In 8 weeks of play there have been 43 180s, 38 9 counts, and 18 white horses shot.

Flint Premiere League Week 9. This is the final week of the league session, and the seeding spots are all up for grabs. Today's featured match will determine the winner of the league portion as undefeated Lee takes on 7-1 Kory. That match will determine the number 1 and number 2 seeds for the tournament portion as well. The third spot is still in play as Don 5-3 takes on Butter 3-5. Both Anthony 4-4 who plays Wedo 1-7 and Carp 4-4 who goes against Scott 3-5 can catch Don. Mike 3-5 needs a win and some luck to move out of the bottom four as he takes on Brad 2-6.

After 9 weeks of play the league is pretty even. Since things are so close let me set a couple of things. Tie breakers will be handled this way. If 2 players are tied it goes by head-to-head record. If three or more players are tied leg wins will be used to cut things down to two players, then head-to-head will be used. If three or more are tied in record and leg wins, and head-to-head cannot decide a clear winner, a 9 dart shoot out will determine the winner. Each player will throw 9 darts, alternating players, and the player with the highest score will be determined the winner. Tie scores result in another shoot out until a winner is determined. The order of play will be determined by random draw done by league officials, provided they are not involved in the shoot out.

Final note: All awards will be presented after the tournament next weekend. We are playing on the 25th. Start time is 2pm as normal. Dress code applies and board one will be streaming.

Flint Premier League Week 8 Match Ups.

With only 2 weeks left in the league stage, nothing has yet been decided. Three players still have a shot at winning the league and everyone else has a chance at landing an automatic spot into the last eight.

Today's featured match sees Mike take on Scott, while other matches see Kory v Don, Wedo v Lee, Anthony v Brad, and in the battle of the nicknames, Carp v Butter.

Streaming will begin around 1:30 and play starts at 2pm. Show up with a 180 sign and fancy dress and cheer on the players. Hey you might even win a prize (emphasis on might). There are still a few good seats left.
