Well I finally got it done, at least the deconstructed part. This flower bed was one of the first on the farm. It has been a pain from the first. I used the wrong w**d barrier (plastic, what was I thinking) so w**ds came up. Then the dog ripped it up. The mulberry and cottonwood trees started coming up. It was driving me nuts. This year the winter really did a number on it so my thought, "This is it. My chance to redo it." So everything came out, except a callicarpa bush that I thought was dead but started to grow after getting cut back. It's not the hardiest plant up here so no way am I taking it out. The only other perennial is the Baptisia. The root is way too deep and digging it up would kill it. I put good w**d barrier down. I need to get more rocks and organize them better around the edge(just threw them back onto the barrier after having dug them all out, to get out of the lawn). I'm going to let it go for awhile, too hot to plant anyway. But at least the hard part is done, planting is the easy, fun part. Stay cool!
