BE CAREFUL. I received a phone call 6 times in 4 days from someone telling me they were calling from Microsoft. They verified my email address, ok that's public knowledge, but then they proceeded to tell me that there have been several attempts to hack into my account. They wanted to be sure I was in front of my computer so they could help me fix the problem. I went to Microsoft's website, where just as I suspected, it said they don't contact people. The next time I got a call from this scam artist, I told them that I contacted Microsoft about this, and to leave me alone. I haven't heard back from them since. That was last week Wednesday! Thank goodness I guess they got the hint and are going to leave me alone.

Just a reminder. Tomorrow, Sunday, October 6, is the Quarter Auction Fundraiser for breast cancer. It is being held at the Anna VFW and doors open for the public at 1:45. Auction begins at 2:30. Attended the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce meeting today at Kriegers' in Holiday Inn. Tim Hodge of Clearwave Communications was a Spotlight Speaker. Also, Marcus Holland of United Methodist Chrildren's Home was the Guest Speaker. United Methodist Children's Home is celebrating their 100th anniversary, and have several events planned. Check out their website for more information: www.umchome.org I was also able to sit with Sami Kern of MMD technologies, and Gary Evans & Jamie of MidCountry Bank.

The UMCH ministry began in 1913 in Creal Springs and has been located in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, since 1921. What began as an orphanage has developed into a multifaceted social service agency providing an array of services to individuals, families, and our communities.
