Grange May 29, 2026, meeting

Grange President Sara Markham opened our regular May meeting with 17 members and guests present. Charter was draped in honor of Sally Hoctor. Scholarship committee recommended we award six scholarships in 2026. It was moved and seconded that funds be transferred to the scholarship fund so these scholarships can be awarded as needed. Bubba and Patty reported on the electrical requirements and status of our new commercial freezer. The proposal to repair potholes and seal coat the Grange parking lot was sent to a committee to obtain bids. Dr. Ogden closed the meeting by presenting an interesting program and humorous story about accordions. After the business meeting, Lori Walker offered the group freshly baked cupcakes topped with rich creamy pink frosting. She was experimenting with a new recipe. As we were eating cupcakes a pounding rain started, the wind started blowing hard, and when electricity went off, we all went home

Goldendale Grange was host to the County Contest Day. formerly called the mini fair. Thank you to Patti Gensen and Luann Whitmire for arranging the two days of activities. Lucille and Maryann for watching over the displays. Our Volunteer Judges did an awesome job. Only unpleasant experience was one unhappy adult who called in to complain to our volunteers using fowl language and numerous descriptive four letter words. It is a shame that society has to put up with childish immature people.

We have reached the moment of truth for our newest activity announcement. A Notre Dame Basketball will be raffled off, combining the excitement of March Madness with the spirit of St. Patrick's Day. The ball is full-size, suitable for any age or gender, and represents an opportunity to support the grange.
