Boettcher Mansion Jefferson County's Premier Historic Events Venue

The Boettcher Mansion provides a rare combination of historic authenticity and modern amenities from its secluded setting inside the Lookout Mountain Nature Preserve in Golden, CO, only a half-hour drive west of Denver. Built in 1917 as a summer home and seasonal hunting lodge for Charles Boettcher, the former “Lorraine Lodge” was donated to Jefferson County in the 1970s for public use and enjoyme

nt. In 1984, the Arts and Crafts estate was listed on the National Register of Historic Places External Link Icon and now serves as Jeffco’s premier historic events venue. A division within the Jefferson County Parks department, the Mansion is self-sustaining, supporting itself primarily from event fees. An impressive example of adaptive re-use, the one-time family residence is perfectly suited for all kinds of social gatherings, including weddings, receptions and commitment ceremonies, along with memorial services and other commemorative milestones. Carefully preserved and sensitively updated in 2005-07, this rustic yet polished architectural gem offers a stunning backdrop for conferences, dances, executive retreats, family reunions, film shoots, fundraisers, lectures, musical performances and trade shows…to name just a few of our ongoing functions.

✨ Volunteer of the Month ✨

Jon Eady is in his second season as a Garden Volunteer, and has made a remarkable impact on the grounds at Boettcher Mansion! His dedication and hard work have helped revitalize the Gazebo Gardens, which were once the personal gardens of Charlene Breeden, and brought new life to this historic and often-overlooked area.

Jon’s enthusiasm for enhancing our visitors’ outdoor experience shines through in every project he takes on. Whether he’s improving garden spaces, tidying the landscape, or brainstorming new ideas, he always goes above and beyond.

Beyond his contributions in the garden, Jon is known for his great sense of humor, friendly personality, and willingness to lend a hand wherever it’s needed.
We are incredibly grateful for Jon’s commitment and the positive impact he continues to make at Boettcher Mansion!

A beautiful piece of Boettcher Mansion history has found its way home!

We recently received a generous donation of three hand-painted antique china created by Fannie Boettcher in 1891. These stunning pieces are now proudly displayed in the hutch in the Forest Room, adding another special glimpse into the Boettcher family’s legacy.

Come visit us to see them in person and experience this beautiful piece of history up close!

We might be biased, but we have the COOLEST couples with the COOLEST friends and family! 😎 laplante.photo ••

✨ Volunteer of the Month ✨

Tom Elliot is June’s Volunteer of the Month. He’s an outstanding new volunteer who joined the Boettcher team this year! From day one, he has gone above and regularly volunteers for additional shifts.

His dedication extends beyond Boettcher. Tom also volunteers at the Lookout Mountain Nature Center, and his ability to assist visitors in Spanish has been incredibly valuable.

Boettcher is fortunate to have such a dedicated, knowledgeable, and compassionate member on the volunteer team!

✨ Volunteer of the Month ✨

Claudia joined the volunteer gardener team here in April 2023, and since then, has contributed more hours than any other volunteer, totaling over 1250 hours!

Claudia is reliable, dependable, and consistently goes above and beyond. She trains the new volunteer gardeners and takes it upon herself to care for the grounds, demonstrating how deeply she values her volunteer role and the Boettcher Mansion property.

Her expertise and knowledge are truly invaluable; the grounds would not look as beautiful as they do today without her dedication and hard work!
