Three Generations of Dance 🩰

For 91 years, the Baker School of Dance has been part of the rhythm of our community.

Long before social media…Long before viral dance trends…There was Irma Baker.

A young woman from Albany who loved to dance so deeply that she built a lifelong legacy around it.

Irma Baker’s journey began during one of America’s most difficult eras — born in 1917 during the Great Flu Pandemic. Despite losing both of her parents at a young age, she found strength and joy through music, movement, and performance.

In 1935, she hosted her first recital in Albany. She sang with big bands on the radio. She taught generations of dancers. And over the next 80+ years, her studios became woven into the fabric of communities across New York State.

Her influence reached far beyond the stage, inspiring the next generation of dancers, including her own daughter and granddaughter.

Today, Denise Baker and Kyle Hatfield continue that incredible family tradition right here in Glenville.

Denise Baker — Irma’s daughter — expanded her mother’s legacy far beyond the dance floor. A Purdue University graduate with a degree in Psychology, Denise spent years directing Human Services programs before returning to the family passion of dance and choreography. She has choreographed productions throughout the Capital Region, served as Director of Dance for the Empire State Youth Institute of Performing Arts at The Egg, taught Tai Chi locally and internationally, and even earned recognition for choreography through award-winning high school productions. Denise also continues her mother’s spirit of giving by providing scholarships to students in need.

Denise’s daughter, Kyle Hatfield — Irma’s granddaughter — represents the next chapter of the Baker legacy. A lifelong dancer and certified instructor through Dance Educators of America and Dance Masters of America, Kyle teaches multiple styles throughout the region and leads the Baker School of Dance Performance Group, whose dancers have performed at beloved local events including NiskaDay, the Scotia Memorial Day Parade, Joe Bruno Stadium, and the Times Union Center.

Three generations.91 years. One incredible family legacy rooted in creativity, discipline, passion, and community.

🇺🇸 As we celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary, we are honored to have the Baker School of Dance supporting our event and sharing their talents with our community during the celebration on June 26, 2026.

From 1935 to 2026…and on to inspiring the next generation of dancers….Now THAT is American history in motion. ❤️🤍💙

Part of Your Morning. Part of Our Community.

For nearly four decades, the Teixeira family has been part of your mornings—serving coffee, breakfast, and a smile to a community they’ve grown up with.

They’ve seen it all:
Coffee brewed by the pot individually.
Sugar scooped and measured by hand
Eggs cracked fresh for every sandwich

And now, we all are going through the Drive-thru lane
"Runnin’ on Dunkin’"

But through every change, some things have stayed the same:
💛 Family comes first. Always.
💛 Treat people right.
💛 Show up with a smile—no matter how early the morning is.

Behind every cup is a family working around the clock—literally.

And if you’re wondering…
The Teixeira family orders
☕ Carlos – Large Latte
☕ Marta – Medium Black Coffee
☕ Natasha – Large Mocha Latte
🍵 Miguel – Hot Tea (we know… shocking 😂)
☕ Nicole – XL Black Coffee

🇺🇸 As we gear up for our America 250 Celebration on June 26, 2026, we’re proud to highlight and support family-owned businesses like the Teixeira family.

Because this celebration isn’t just about history—it’s about the people who continue to build it every single day.
👇 Tell us…How long have YOU been part of the Teixeira family’s Dunkin tradition?

Thank you for sponsoring the Scotia-Glenville America 250 Fireworks Celebration

A Century of the American Dream

Long before Mohawk Honda became a household name, there was a young MIT-trained engineer named Joseph Haraden.

Recruited by Thomas Edison to work at General Electric in Schenectady, Joseph witnessed something that would forever change transportation—the arrival of the "horseless carriage." He saw more than a new invention. He saw opportunity.

In 1919, he left GE and founded Mohawk Auto Sales on State Street, beginning what would become one of the Capital Region's most enduring family businesses.

More than 50 years later, in 1971, his son, Joseph "Buzz" Haraden, introduced the Capital Region's very first Honda franchise. A new chapter began, but the family's values never changed.

Today, four generations later, the Haraden family still leads the business with the same philosophy they've followed for over a century: Treat people the way you'd want to be treated.

As we celebrate America's 250th Birthday, we're proud to recognize Mohawk Honda as an America 250 Sponsor.

Their story is a reminder that the American Dream isn't built overnight—it grows through generations of hard work, innovation, integrity, and service to others.
🇺🇸 Thank you, Mohawk Honda, for helping drive our community forward for over 100 years and for sponsoring the Scotia-Glenville America 250 Fireworks Celebration

102 Years of Community Banking

Long before Scotia-Glenville became the thriving community we know today, a group of local business leaders believed their neighbors deserved something different—a bank built by the community, for the community.

In 1923, local merchants came together with a simple vision: create a hometown bank that would serve local families and businesses with trust, integrity, and personal relationships. That vision became 1st National Bank of Scotia, and more than a century later, that mission remains unchanged.

From weathering the Great Depression to embracing the latest banking technology, one thing has always remained constant—the bank's commitment to putting its community first.

Today, that same commitment continues through generations of the Buhrmaster family and an incredible team dedicated to helping neighbors achieve their financial goals while preserving the hometown values that have defined the bank for more than 100 years.

As we celebrate America's 250th Birthday, we're proud to recognize 1st National Bank of Scotia as our Leading Sponsor—a business whose own history reflects the resilience, innovation, and community spirit that built our nation.

🇺🇸 Thank you for helping make this Scotia-Glenville America 250 Fireworks Celebration possible!

🇺🇸 America 250 Sponsor Spotlight:

For Amy Aldrich, being a good neighbor has never just been a slogan—it's a way of life.

Over the past 18 years, Amy has helped countless families navigate life's challenges, protect what matters most, and plan for brighter futures. But ask her about her proudest accomplishments, and she won't talk about policies or premiums. She'll talk about people.

She remembers working with a single mother who was struggling to make ends meet. Together, they built a plan—putting the right protections in place, creating a budget, refinancing her home, and slowly working toward financial stability. It didn't happen overnight. It took years of dedication and perseverance. But eventually, that mother paid off her home, retired comfortably, and even took the dream trip she had always hoped to share with her son. To this day, she still stops by with a cup of coffee and a heartfelt thank you.

When the world shut down during COVID, Amy and her team immediately began calling their senior clients simply to check in. One local woman had no family nearby and little support. For nearly two years, Amy personally grocery shopped for her every week to make sure she had what she needed.

These are the moments that define a community.

As we celebrate America's 250th anniversary, we're honored to recognize Amy Aldrich State Farm Insurance—not just for protecting families, but for caring for them. Through every stage of life, Amy has embodied what makes Glenville and Scotia special: neighbors helping neighbors, one relationship at a time.

And if there was theme song for Amy, it surely would be: “I’ll Be There For You” by The Rembrandts

Thank you, Amy, for making a difference in our community and for sponsoring the Scotia-Glenville America 250 Fireworks Celebration

🇺🇸 Then & Now: Amy Aldrich— Your Trusted Neighbor

When Amy Aldrich opened her State Farm office in 2008, Glenville looked a lot different than it does today.

The Target plaza was still an abandoned K-Mart. Hampton Run was an open field. There was no Aldi, WellNow, Chipotle, or Starbucks. Sidewalks were scarce, and Friendly's remained a beloved gathering place in town.

As a member of the Glenville Economic Development Committee, Amy had a front-row seat to the community's transformation. Today, she enjoys seeing many of those plans and visions become reality.

Yet despite all the changes, one thing has never changed—her commitment to helping local families prepare for the future.

Whether helping a young family protect what matters most, guiding someone through life's unexpected challenges, or supporting local organizations and causes, Amy believes that relationships are at the heart of everything she does.

"I truly enjoy learning people's stories," she says. "There's nothing more gratifying than hearing someone say we made a real difference in their life.”

Today, Amy serves on many local boards, committees, and dedicates her time to the community she loves. You can find her involved with YWCA of Northeastern NY, BHBL Jr Baseball, BHBL Giving Tree, Logan Strong Foundation, Kiwanis International, Habitat for Humanity, and was recently named Business & Professional Women’s Club 2023 Woman of the Year.

Thank you, Amy Aldrich State Farm Insurance, for helping make Glenville and Scotia the special communities they are today and for sponsoring the Scotia-Glenville America 250 Fireworks Celebration
