The Associates and Los Angeles Filmforum present “Don’t Think I’ve Forgotten: Cambodia’s Lost Rock’n’Roll”

Cambodia in the 1960s-70s saw the rise of an energetic pop music culture influenced by many genres such as California surf rock. The rise of the Khmer Rouge extinguished the flame and many notable musicians fell victim to genocide. Director Pirozzi interviewed surviving musicians and accessed songs, photos and rare film footage to bring this history to light.

Following the screening, Los Angeles Filmforum Executive Director Adam Hyman will moderate a discussion with Senon Williams and Chhom Nimol, members of the Los Angeles-based band Dengue Fever.

LA Swing Dance Posse (LASDP) is a non-profit organization with the mission to preserve, promote, perform, and teach vernacular jazz dance, such as Savoy Swing, Charleston, and Lindy Hop, from the 1800s to the present. LASDP will present History of Swing Dancing, highlighting Jazz Dance from the 1920s through the 1950s. Feel the groove, feel the beat, and most of all, move those feet.

The Associates are proud to announce the first film in the 2026 REEL ART Film Series, “Pina, A Film for Pina Bausch”

at Brand Library & Art Center

The film is presented in partnership with Glendale Community College Dance Department. Following the screening, Glendale Community College Dance Department Chair Victor Robles will discuss the film and the work of Pina Bausch with the audience.
