We are excited to share we have ushered in new leadership and we just know you are going to love them!
At Apple, we have always prided ourselves on being your partners in hospitality, helping you throw one amazing event after another. While we have loved sharing in these special moments with you, we are both proud and excited to pass the baton on to new owners.
Barbara Lepman, the mind behind Apple a Day since 1986 has been busy showing them all the things and ensuring they know how to manage your events with perfection. They are ready to handle your events perfectly. Secret —- they are really exceptional and didn’t need much direction. Both are chef trained with extensive kitchen and management skills, loads of Chicago’s best event experience and attention to detail.
Daniel Rakestraw and Kevin Zheng of RDK Foods are the new owners and excited to welcome you to their own catering family. They are ready to make sure your events are executed with the precision and professionalism you have come to expect from Apple a Day.
What you can expect? You will see much of the same staff on your parties, the kitchen staff will remain the same with some exciting new additions, so expect their signature top tier food with amazing signature presentation. Expect your details to be noted and make your events effortless and exactly how you envision them.
We are excited for this team, they are the perfect fit to carry on Apple. We are are so grateful and excited to remain a cornerstone in Glencoe.

*Meg’s Cafe will remain closed, Kevin and Daniel have new and big visions a brand new restaurant in Glencoe. It will be a completely different and exciting concept and will open in December 2025. It sounds amazing and we can’t wait to see it come to to life.
