If you see a baby wearing a helmet, please don’t assume their parents “didn’t hold them enough.”

Babies can develop flat spots or head shape differences for so many reasons, even when they’re being held, cuddled, worn, and given plenty of tummy time.

Sometimes it’s related to how they were positioned in the womb.
Sometimes they strongly favor turning their head to one side.
Sometimes torticollis is involved.
And sometimes it simply happens despite parents doing everything they were told to do.

A helmet is not a sign that a baby was ignored or left lying down all day.

It’s a sign that their parents noticed something, talked with their medical team, and are doing what they can to help their baby.

You never know the story behind what you’re seeing.

So instead of judging the helmet, just admire the adorable baby wearing it. 🤍
