Drag artist, activist and outdoor advocate Pattie Gonia has completed one of her most ambitious projects to date: a 100-mile backpacking trek from northern Marin County to San Francisco, all in full drag. The multiday journey, which concluded this week, raised nearly $1.2 million for eight nonprofits dedicated to expanding equitable outdoor access for q***r people, BIPOC communities and youth.

For this year's Pride we are excited to welcome three speakers who will inspire us before the march! Their bios are below.

KT Babb has lived in Gladwin for coming on 11 years now, and never once predicted this little town would have a single Pride event, let alone one coming up on its fourth years. They came into their q***r identity partially around ten years ago, then fully just two, though who knows what new discoveries will come on the winds of change. It was a hard transition from fundamentalist indoctrination to who they are now, but the journey, while never complete, made their life immensely better. They’re beyond honored to be asked back as a speaker yet again and hopes their reading of a simple storybook touches you as much as it did them
Lukas Heath is a Transmasc actor and barista who grew up in Gladwin and lived here for the good majority of his life. He’s elated to attend this year’s pride parade, and is so happy that the town he’s known and loved for so long is, in turn, expressing love for those in the LGBTQIA+ community.
Fern Quinn is a q***r trans non-binary person speaking as the Shelter house representative this year. They serve as a residential advocate in the shelter at our Midland County Shelterhouse location. They have been out completely for six years and are looking forward to speaking to the q***r people and allies in attendance at Gladwin PRIDE.
