Today, our partner, resident, and dear friend was taken into custody to serve a five-year term, with nearly four years already served. While this was not the outcome we had hoped for, it is the minimum sentence the judge felt he could impose under the law.
Cain has taken full accountability for his actions—something the other side has not. I know Cain’s son well and wholeheartedly believe his account of the trauma he endured.
Cain is the most principled and honest man I know. He is not only strong-minded but also deeply compassionate. While the world may know him as a fighter, those of us who truly know him understand he is so much more. I feel incredibly fortunate to have shared time with such an extraordinary person.
We look forward to his release and return in due time.
