I’ve mulled over this decision for months. Even while working while in school, I hoped for some way to continue in the events world. Some huge opportunities came up this fall, but I knew I ultimately needed to turn them down…

My heart belongs in science. It was my first passion, aside from cooking, and it is time for me to pursue my goals there.

The last 12 years have been amazing, I’ve met so many incredible people, was able to have flexibility with my kids, and saw some wild things. 😉

But, I know I am following my heart, and I am so excited for things to come. I hope to support couples through the next (even bigger) biggest day of their lives - delivering babies! 🥰🥰

I’ll miss everyone in the events world! But hope to see you around! Cheers! 🥂

Took my daughter to work today!! So official bathroom selfie was needed. I never paid attention to birds before, but she is obsessed, and wants to be an ornithologist. So when I saw a green finch at my wedding last weekend, I had to tell her. She told me how lucky I was to see a rare bird, so I asked if she wanted to come to work with me while I ran my rehearsal. She hung out in the gardens drawing birds all morning, and had the BEST time. She didn’t see the green finch, but saw a spotted tohee and some other new birds.

We’ve had lots of Nestldown inquiries the last few weeks, and this is me on that 101* afternoon last week, under the willow tree. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Couples are often surprised with my knowledge of Nestldown. In addition to my own clients, I have taken on the role as SEM for about 5-15 Nestldown couples each year for the last 8 seasons! It’s wild to think about how long I’ve been doing it, but Nestldown is such a magical spot. It heals my soul to be up among the redwoods. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If you know me, you probably know I was born and raised in San Diego. I was at the beach any chance I got. My dad’s two best friends lived in OB, so their girls and I would spend summer break boogie boarding, tanning, swimming all day long. And grabbing our fav. bean and cheese burritos at the taqueria on the beach. And cooling off with Thrify ice cream on our walk back home.

Life as a wedding planner isn’t always conducive to beach days. But, we got one last week. And it was this dude’s first time really getting to play at the beach! Once he got over being “dirty,” he was all about it. We had a blast, and declared this summer should involve far more beach days.

We escaped to Truckee for the long weekend. My family is vaccinated, so all the Northern California folks made some magic happen last minute, got time off work, and I spent the weekend cooking with my Aunt and enjoying family time. I’ll forever be grateful to these Uncles who helped instill a love of nature in me.
