Rabbi Brent Spodek wrote something that has stayed with me: the challenge of planning a wedding is making enough space to notice the people who came.

I see how much thought couples put into the setting, the flowers, the food and the music. Those things can make a day wonderful. But I also want you to have a moment to look around the room ( or tent) and take in who is there with you.
