Geneva Music Festival

Geneva Music Festival What began as a weekend-long classical music series has since grown to a variety of attractions lasting two weeks in the Finger Lakes summer.

Geneva Music Festival’s mission is to entertain, inspire, and nurture a lifelong appreciation of chamber and other musical genres in Finger Lakes communities by presenting world-class artists that engage diverse audiences of all ages. Founded in 2011 by violinist and Geneva native Geoffrey Herd, the Geneva Music Festival has remained committed to bringing a wide array of fine arts performances to

the Finger Lakes Region. The Geneva Music Festival’s mission is to entertain, inspire, and nurture a lifelong appreciation of chamber and other musical genres in Finger Lakes communities by presenting world-class artists that engage diverse audiences of all ages, including populations with little exposure to music of this caliber. Purposeful engagement with young people is an integral part of the Festival’s programming and children 18 years and younger are admitted free to all public concerts. Programs in schools and senior living facilities bring live chamber music to audiences that might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience it.

🎥 Meet Mark Olivieri, one of the composers helping shape COLLIDE.

Mark is a composer, he teaches music at Hobart & William Smith Colleges (HWS), and is the Director of HWS Composer’s Sandbox, a summer intensive for emerging composers.

COLLIDE brings together Geneva Music Festival artists, Society for New Music, and Composer’s Sandbox for an evening of bold, contemporary music. This collaboration between today’s composers and GMF performers will create an evening that’s a unique and dynamic concert experience.

It will give you a chance to experience something new in an intimate and accessible setting. You don’t need to know contemporary music to enjoy it!

Come curious and enjoy something unexpected!

What an amazing, packed-house, highly energetic night we had with over the weekend!

Nights like this, when the house is packed, the physical space between the artist and the audience can feel even smaller, making it a deeply personal, immersive experience. We are so grateful we get to share world-renowned artists like this on our stages right here in Geneva!

As always, our deepest gratitude and thanks to our audiences, partners, and sponsors who make events like this possible!

Our next event this season is just around the corner:
